Clean drinking water is getting scare day by day. It is important that we take immediate measures to conserve it. Efficient Atmospheric Water Generator (EAWG) aims to design a clean water production unit. The unit condenses humid air, collects water in the form of drops and makes it drinkable. Atmospheric water generator (AWG) is a unit that incorporates peltier cells. They are designed to condense the humid air by controlling the dew point around the device. As the dew point is reached the water starts to condense. These
water droplets are then stored in a tank by passing through the water filter, the water is filtered to remove bacteria and germs.
We already know that Pakistan is running out of fresh water and it is an alarming condition, and it is estimated that the country is going to suffer a shortage of water by 2025. The water supplied in many areas is of poor quality and not even drinkable because of which many people suffer from illness. Clean bottled water is expensive and the poor people cannot afford it. In many areas of Pakistan, especially the coastal areas, where the air is about 65% humid throughout the year. An Efficient atmospheric water generator is a device that condenses water from humid ambient air and is also capable of making it drinkable. Water vapor can be extracted by cooling the air below its dew point, which is called condensation. Dew point is the temperature at which water vapor in the air starts to condense. Our project uses Peltiers to extract the water. Refrigeration cycle can also be used to extract water from air but in this project we will use thermoelectric coolers (Peltiers) to extract the water. The heat sink on the cold side of the thermoelectric cooler will be maintained at the dew point to achieve this. The collected water will be then filtered to make it drinkable.
It is estimated that after completion of project it will generate 4 litres of water in a day. We can increase its efficiency by increasing the number of peltiers that will provide more water but it will ultimately cost more.
Currently, we are getting water naturally from rivers and due to the shortage of water, wells are being dug at many places, and after digging wells and boring we are getting water at the depth of 250 and 300 feet that is the minimum depth, there are many places in Pakistan and many other countries where we are getting water beneath 500 feet. Manual digging of wells and machine digging (boring) requires going through many phases such that providing suitable place, usage of machines providing pipes and pumps for boring and rings and pumps for well that cost a lot of time as well as it is way too expensive to get the water that we can use for household purposes only and cannot be used for drinking because it requires filtration via RO (Reverse Osmosis) plants and filters.
First of all we will gather all the data available about the atmosphere so that we can analyze that how and by which ways can we improve our project efficiency and how can we implement our project in an effective way. After that we will test on peltier device and will note down the reading and figure out all its specifications practically.
After that we will work on the designing and efficiency of the project and make an efficient design of the project so that we can start the implemention of the hardware. In hardware the peltier device will generate the droplets of water by condensing the humid air, DHT 11 sensor will set the dew point and arduino controller will be used to control and interface between hardware and software by using software labview, mosfet will be used for switching and LM35 sensor will sense the temprature and will keep updating the user about it. Water tank will be placed to collect water and filters will be used to filter the generated water to make it drinkable.
After completion of hardware we will interface the hardware and software for better understanding, visualization and to remain updated about the generation also about other parameters. The softwares used in this project will be Labview, Matlab and proteus for designing and interference between hardware and software.

Efficient Atmospheric Water Generator (EAWG) will provide its user to see the efficiency, temperature and humidity of that present time. We will try to provide the project in the close system so that the user can only see the switch to turn and off the device when needed and there will be LCD that will display all the parameters to look and figure out the temperature, humidity, water level etc. It will provide user about the information of power usage of the system. The level of the water tank will be visible to the user. There will be option to update the system efficiency by adding the peltier.
Details will not be provided to the user about the software programming and any details of backend working of the unit.
