Effecient car cooling system using peltier diode with zero fuel consumption is a project equal to gold for the office workers.

The purpose of our project is to design a cooling system using innovative idea which will lower down the inside temprature of car parked in hot weather.

Our project also include designing a small cooling box using peltier diode for

• Preservation of food
• Retaining temprature of water bottles
• To keep heat sensitive medicines safe from heat.

Our system will be operated using renewable energy through solar panels.

Why we are designing this project?

In hot sunny weather when you park your car under sun the inside of car change into oven and temprature inside the car is unbearable whiche results in following defects

• Effect the internal condition of car (seats etc)
• When you switch on the AC it aquire more energy to cool down the temprature which effect the mileage of car and effect the engine of car.
• AC systems installed in cars emits some gases like chloroflouro Carbons which are ver harmful for health causing cancers and other diseases.
• Abrupt changes in temprature also effect your health.
• Medicine and other foods got damaged under such conditions.

As you know health is wealth so our aim is to design a cooling system which is fuel effective as well as health effective.

Project Objectives

This project aim towards developing of system which will produce cooling effect without using any fuel and without damaging the mileage of car. The project will operate through solar energy and will cool down the inside temprature of car .The main objectives of project includes:

• Lowering the temperature inside the car using Peltier module.
• Installing fans and heat sink for modeling the system.
• To install the cooling system in car.
• Using renewable energy to operate the cooling system.
• Installing temperature measurement system for better testing.
• Drainage system for cooling system.
• To install a refrigeration box for retaining the temperature of water bottles and preservation of food and medicines.
• Using the Peltier effect to generate some voltages.
   

Project Implementation Method

Our project is divided into two phase:

In first phase our purpose was to design small cooling box for retaining temprature of water bottles , for preserving food and for heat sensitive medicines.

In second phase we designed a cabin of car size and applied our cooling system using peltier diode on it. Blower were designed compatibe to our system which help to throw cool air from the surface of peltier and it can easily lower down the temparature of inside of car.

Meanwhile whole system would be operated by solar panels using MPPT charger and car battery.

Operation:

• The project will use Peltier diode and solar energy to build a thermo-electric cooling system for automobiles.
• Heat sink will be used to supply the cool air into the car and hot air out of the car.
• Temperature testing equipment will monitor the temperature inside and outside of the car.
• Proper drainage system for the water in cooling box will be installed.
• Peltier diode also produces electric effect so we will use this application of Peltier diode to generate power and illuminates some lights.

Benefits of the Project

Health and fuel effective cooling system has following benefits:

• No fuel consumption as it will operate through solar energy.
• This system operate through 12 V DC which mean that it use very less power and it can easily through built in battery system of car.
• No emission of CFC gases which are harmful for health
• No damage of food and medicines
• It will increase the life of automobiles
• You can replace your HVAC system with newly induced cooling system using peltier.
• Very cost effective
• Maintenance and repairing cost is very low as compared compressed gas AC systems.
• This sytem can easily be installed in small cars as well as big vehicles.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We were able to design a cooling box and cooling cabin at the end of proposed time. Temprature of cooling box was dropped to 17 degrees Celsius in 25-30 minutes using one peltier diode of 30 watt.

And temprature of car cabin was dropped to 24 degrees celsius in 30-32 minutes from 36 degrees celsius using 4 peltier diodes and 4 small blowers/fans. Each peltier consume power of 30 watts (120 watts in total).
