Design and Implementation of Centralized Wi-Fi Access point Controller for Secure LAN
The WLAN network specially designed for SAU with new technology devices the main focus on all the network use wirelessly with , we are implemented WLAN CONTROLLER which control the all access points through administrator , the dhcp server enabled for the assigning ip address to end users dynamically. Access control list enabled for deny the services and permit only web browsing on the network as well as we provide port security to secure our switches. (Only their devices can interact which are connected in our switches by using MAC address sticky) and can also provide secure communication. As it resulted if someone wants to implement this model, we can easily assign this through our project.
Systems and methods are provided for centralized access control, and management of access points (AP) in a network architecture to facilitate easy and efficient maintenance and monitoring of access points, for example. Systems and methods are also provided for assigning unique identifiers to one or more access points, and use the identifiers through an interface, such as a command line interface (CLI) of an access controller (AC), to manage and monitor the one or more access points through their respective interfaces. System of the present disclosure further enables transitioning from CLI of a first access point to CLI of a second access point without going through AC.
1.1 Wi-Fi
WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network. It is a wireless network of two or more devices and uses high-frequency radio waves for communication. This network has an access point to the internet. The communication is for limited coverage area like homes, offices, schools. WLAN is based on IEEE 802.11 standard and commonly referred as Wi-Fi. This network is for commercial use as it is easy to install and use. It is another choice for thesis in wireless communication.
1.2 WIRELESS LAN CONTROLLER (WLC)
Wireless networks have become a necessity today. Many corporate environments require deployment of Wireless networks on a large scale. Cisco has come up with the concept of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network (CUWN) solution, which helps make it easier to manage such large scale deployments. Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) is a device that assumes a central role in the CUWN. Traditional roles of access points, such as association or Authentication of wireless clients, are done by the WLC. Access points, called Lightweight Access Points.
1.3 Access Point (AP):
A wireless access point (AP) is a hardware device that allows wireless communication devices, such as PDAs and mobile computers, to connect to a wireless network. Usually, an AP connects to a wired network, and provides a bridge for data communication between wireless and wired devices.
1.4 SSID
A Service Set Identifier (SSID) is a configurable identification that allows wireless clients to communicate with an appropriate access point. With proper configuration, only clients with correct SSID can communicate with the access points. In effect, SSID acts as a single shared password between access points and clients.
