Project Summary

In practice, the identification of criminals in Pakistan is done through file processing. However, this type of identification is constrained as the data may be inconsistent or it may be lost quite easily. This is an android based application that can be installed on a maximum of three devices in a specific police station. It will completely kick off the old file processing system. The security officers will be the users of this application. This system will be able to detect the face and recognize the face automatically. There are multiple methods in which facial identification systems work, but in general, they work by comparing selected facial features from a given image with faces within a database. If a face is recognized it is known or the system may show a similar face existing in the database else, it is unknown. This will help law enforcement to detect or recognize suspects of the case. The results show that about 80% of input photos can be matched with the template data.

We make this system using a machine such as a laptop. Different languages will use in it like android, java, Basic concept of OOP and platform will use Android studio and actual android phones use to show the output.

There are two types of users interact with the system: users of the mobile application/registered users and administrators. Each of these two types of users has a different use of the system so each of them has its requirements.

• The mobile application will be used by the registered user to match and view a person’s record. The user will have a little less authority on the system than the admin. Users must have an android mobile phone as well as internet connectivity to use this application.
• The admin has more authority over the system than a user of the app. The admin will control the users and the application through an android mobile so require an active internet connection. The admin has the authority to delete, update, and create accounts and also block or unblock users. The admin is managing the overall system so there is no incorrect information within it. The admin can also view user activities.

Project Objectives

Facial Recognition is a very effective tool that can help law enforces and recognize criminals. It shall be used in most of Pakistan’s Police Stations. It can also be used in universities, colleges, schools, hospitals, and private companies for the identification of their students or employees. This technology can be further developed to be used in other avenues such as ATM’s, accessing confidential files, or other sensitive material

Project Implementation Method

App will detect persons face and capture face then send this pic to database and in databases pic will be matched with other data present in databases and result will be shown as person is "criminal" or "not" on laptops screen

An admin is the person who is responsible to monitor the overall system and manage user accounts.

Each human face has many distinctive landmarks, different deck peaks that make up facial features. Each face has approximately 80 nodal points of which the following are used for facial recognition:

· Distance between the eyes;

· Width of the nose;

· Depth of the eye sockets;

· The length of the jaw line.
