Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryOur project based on energy monitoring and management involves smart monitoring and controlling of all the electrical appliances/loads of home in order to reduce the units consumed and thus reducing the energy terrif per month and also provides the perks of automating the home devices.
Project Objectives- Design a smart controller that will monitor energy consumption at appliance level and to control the appliance using IoT and Blynk application.

In our project we intend to employ esp8266 along with arduino and a lot of other sensors .The idea is to take data from the sensors using arduino and then sending data to the cloud allowing user to monitor and control home. Mobile application linked with esp8266 will provide user access to home appliances. Web camera integrated with central controller and accessed through mobile application and websites will make home safe and secure.
Benefits of the ProjectOur proposed system will not only make our homes smart but also automated. The system will improve the existing systems and more advanced features will be added to it like surveillance system, smart switching of sources, more control on our homes, Easy-to-use android app.
One of the most touted benefits of home automation is providing peace of mind to homeowners, allowing them to monitor their homes remotely, countering dangers. Domotics are also beneficial for the elderly, providing monitoring that can help seniors to remain at home comfortably and safely, rather than moving to a nursing home or requiring 24/7 home care. Smart homes can accommodate user preferences. For example, as soon as you arrive home, your garage door will open, the lights will go on. Parents can easily keep tabs on their children. They can ensure that they make it safely into the house each night, letting them in without getting out of bed to greet them. Ladies can use this system in their Kitchens.
