Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryWe are going to develop an automatic system to control and secure the home, based on digital image processing with the help of Internet of Things (IoT).
The system consists of following Hardware Devices:
- Ultrasonic Sensor
- Pi Camera 5mp
- Arduino UNO
- Bluetooth Analog
- Raspberry Pi B6
- HDMI Mini Display
- Cables, Connectors, Resisters and Capacitors.
Sensor is placed in the frame of the door which alerts camera, to capture an image who intends to enter the house, then sends the image to the database or dataset of the Raspberry Pi Device. Image analysis is performed to detect and recognize and match the image with the stored dataset of the authenticated people. If the image captured does not match with the dataset then an alert message will be sent to the owner of the house. The image processing algorithms are considered for the processing spatial and time complexity of the image captured to cross check with the dataset stored in the Raspberry Pi. In terms of complexity, there would be several algorithms that will properly manage the whole system.
Project ObjectivesSecurity being the main intent of the project, the most important application of this system is any domestic security because it will not open the door for the person who is unknown to the owner of the house.
Project Implementation MethodWe Will Detect Person’s Face Through Image Processing Algorithms and then we send it to the server for recognition and communication devices through Bluetooth and finally when the face of the person in front of the door is recognized then we the door will be open by using Bluetooth communication.
Benefits of the Project- It provides ease of access with enhanced security.

Facial recognition systems can monitor people coming in and going out of the house.

It will identify the people which are authorized to enter the house using Machine Learning.

Another purpose is that system will identify suspicious individuals and potential threats such as burglars and thieves.

The targeted audience and customer marketplace for such a system is very vast as systemcan be used not only in home security but for also corporate security in organization such as to ensure the safety of the organization’s data and set and implement clearance and authorization levels across an organization.
System Will consist on 3 Modules:
One to be equiped on the outside of the door
2nd on the lock of the door
3rd is the Python runable application on the server inside the home.
