Project Summary

We are willing to develop an application that can help students to learn in a much more efficient manner. Students can play as a character from history and will follow along their journey in the application where they will learn a lot about their life and events. Students will be presented with quizzes and interactive gameplay which will be calculating their score and at the end of each chapter/story, their score will be shown.
 

Project Objectives

There are multiple objectives for this project. The first one is that we believe that using this application can minimize the use of books and will reduce the cost of education. Reducing the printing process of books will help us save trees and potentially make this world more livable as we can avoid the printing pollution. Secondly, according to our survey, we can see that around 60% of students believe that having an application/game like this will attract more and more students and it will make it easier for them to learn all about our heroes. Lastly, as we know that recently our honorable Prime Minister Imran Khan introduced the concept of Digital Pakistan so this is a step towards that in the education industry.
 

Project Implementation Method

So the concept of the project is that we will be providing two characters(Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal) which the user can choose and play along their story. Rather than texts and images on the books we will be replacing them with gameplay and dialogue systems. The dialogue system will be the main learning material for the students which will be supported by the story(fictional but based on facts). Throughout each levels quizzes related to that story will be presented where the student can answer the questions and get marks accordingly.

Benefits of the Project

An easier and a more efficient way of teaching the kids. Not saying that books aren't good for us but books are from the era when the kids didn't had anything as mobile phones or video games. So alot of the kids used to read books and comics. So at that time it made more sense to teach kids from the medium they are used. In contrast now reading books as a lesiure activity is rare for a kid. Alot of students barely read their academic books. So why not teach them in the means they are used to spend their leisure time and are more productive on. This project will help with exactly the same issue. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

As discussed earlier Unity 3d is being used as the core wngine of the game. For the backend scripts and functionality c# is used as it is the recommended language for Unity 3d. After that in the game we have a wide range of modules. Each module is implemented differently. The Quiz System Module is created using XML Quiz editor which helps alot with the implementation of the quizzes, their questions and answers. Player Prefs will be used to keep track of the score and show when needed. Dialogue System Module will be implemented using Vide Editor where the text along with the pictures of the actors will be presented.
