Position Control of Linear Induction Machine
Linear motors are particular electrical machines in which electrical energy is changed into mechanical linear motion without the need for the rotary motion to linear conversion. Synchronous motors, DC motors, stepping motors, the last permanent magnet motors are types of linear motors. Between these motors, Linear Induction Motor is investigated as one of the best types of linear motors because of its high thrust force, easy maintenance, high-speed of operation, simple mechanical manufacture, silence operation, low friction, no backlash, no need for gear among motion devices and motor, minimization of mechanical losses and size of motion devices, and suitability for both high and low-speed applications.
Power is nothing without control and whether it is for a roller coaster, a public transportation system, or industrial use, projects that require linear motion often have diverse and in many cases complex control requirements. Applications may require very precise speed or positional control, despite wide variations in vehicle total mass. The characteristics of typical low-speed Linear Induction Motors are considerably different from the characteristics of typical Squirrel Cage Induction Motors. These differences must be taken into account when choosing a control system.
Linear Induction Motors can be developed to meet a wide variety of force and speed criteria. Motors can be designed to produce a specified force at a given speed. Alternatively, they can be developed to accelerate a vehicle of a given mass to a set velocity within a certain time or to produce a force without movement. Speed control can be implemented in several ways, from on/off switching to closed-loop inverter control. Speed feedback systems can be included in the system to give fine control of system speed.
The goal of our project is to move the rotor in To-and-fro oscillatory motion on Linear Induction Motor in a controlled way with a linearly traveling magnetic field. We will code and build the custom software required to control the LIM system which enables complete optimization ensuring maximum performance and efficiency. But if the application requirements change the following commissioning then in many cases, the software can be adapted as required.
The technique which we are using for implementing the bidirectional motion of the rotor of the linear induction machine is a feedback system using an inverter. Applications may require very precise speed or positional control, despite wide variations in vehicle total mass. Feedback systems can be included in the system to give fine control of motor speed. Design an Inverter with Sensors, Rectifier, and Microcontroller to move the rotor of the Linear Induction Motor in bidirectional motion. The Micro-Controller acts as the Brain of the Circuit for its controls and regulates the entire system. With this looped circuit, we can control the input of the position linear induction machine.
Linear Induction Motors are currently used in projects around the world to drive a wide range of industrial applications including sewage processing systems, materials handling & transport, gate/door drives, extruded material pullers, medical scanning equipment, and road surface testing equipment to name only a few. Linear Induction Motors will provide your industry with the reliability and efficiency required.
Key advantages of Linear Induction Motors in the industry:

Feedback systems can be included in the system to give fine control of motor speed. Design an Inverter with Sensors, Rectifier, and Microcontroller to move the rotor of Linear Induction. The motor is bi-directional motion. The Programmable chips consist of the MICROCONTROLLER and the Integrated Circuits (I.C’S). The Micro-Controller acts as the Brain of the Circuit for controls and regulates the entire system. It monitors the working of each component and that the system is working properly or not. We will code and build the custom software required to control the LIM system which enables complete optimization ensuring maximum performance and efficiency.
