The main reason behind the development of our project is to design and develop a low-cost, encrypted pair of devices that can provide secure communication in a world where privacy is sold for pro?t. We will design and develop a low-cost and hand-held pair of devices which will provide secure communication between two persons. Both will connect the device with their mobile phones and use these devices for communication. At one end, one of these devices will take input the voice of one user and then encrypt it and give it the phone for transmission and on the other end when the phone will receive the audio then the second one of these devices will take the encrypted audio from the mobile phone and decrypt it and give the output at its speaker. The need of designing this pair of low-cost and hand-held devices is to encrypt the communication between any two persons, communicating with each other from anywhere in the world. Due to encryption nobody can steal any information from their communication and hence the idea of secure communication can be achieved.
The objectives we want to achieve by this project sets out to tackle the lack of secure communications in today's world, where privacy is all non-existent thanks to huge technology corporations and their love of user’s metadata. We decided that one way to combat this lack of security is by developing a low-cost and hand-held set pair of devices that can encrypt and decrypt audio data and send it to the other device anywhere in the world by connecting to the mobile phone.
The tasks which we will be required to perform in order to successfully complete this project will be first interface a microphone and a speaker with the arm cortex micro-processor. The second main task will be to perform the encryption and decryption of the audio either which is to be transmitted or which is received using the AES algorithm as it supports all the 128-bit, 192-bit and 256-bit keys for encryption and decryption. Then one of the biggest tasks is to interface the mobile phone with the arm cortex micro-processor because we have to transmit and receive our audio data across the globe using mobile phones. We will connect the arm cortex microprocessor with the mobile phone using the audio jack as we connect hand-free with our mobile phone.
The deliverables of this project will be to design and develop a low-cost and hand-held pair of devices which will provide secure communication between two persons. Another deliverable of the project is to make it as much easy and smooth as possible to our device with any mobile phone in the world having an audio jack. Another deliverable of this project will be to seamlessly interface the high-quality microphone and a speaker with the arm cortex microprocessor. Another main deliverable of the project will be to implement the encryption and decryption on the audio data in as much efficient way as possible. The beneficiary of this project will be anyone who wants to keep his/her privacy in his/her own hands and do not trust on these big corporations such as meta. As these large corporations make their profit by selling the data of the users of their technology.
