Securing Supply Chain Network through Blockchain
Blockchain is a method of storing data that makes it difficult or impossible to alter, hack, or cheat it. Blockchain uses Web3.0 technology and Web3.0 will emerge from the natural evolution of older-generation web tools combined with cutting-edge technologies such as AI and blockchain, as well as user interconnection and increased internet usage.
Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source blockchain that supports smart contracts. And Smart contracts are a type of permission-less app that executes automatically when the contract's conditions are met. And these Smart contracts are usually used in dApps (Decentralized Applications). Those are applications that run on networks that are not controlled by a single authority. In the context of cryptocurrencies, dApps operate in a public, open-source, decentralized environment.
Many supply chains face challenges that have significant implications in terms of cost, speed, and (product) quality. It aims to increase transparency and drive value at every step of the supply chain. By leveraging the technology's decentralized cloud database, which records data in non-changeable blocks that can be shared with any number of players, global players like Walmart intend to increase transparency and drive value at every step of the supply chain.
The main objective of this project is to achieve transparency within the supply chain network which can be achieved through the use of blockchain technology.
We are going to use React.js Technology to achieve the front-end part of our application.
For the backend part, we will write a contract on Solidity language. and link it with the front-end part of our application by use of javascript libraries like web3.js and ethers.js.
After finalizing the project we deploy it on web servers and a blockchain test network.
The use of blockchain in the supply chain has the potential to improve supply chain transparency and traceability while at the same lowering administrative expenses and paperwork.
Web application with two interfaces
1. customer side interface
2. Administration side Interface
Customer Side Interface
in the customer side interface, any end-user like consumers can verify any food item by tracking comprise's all the stages that food products go through, from production to consumption with the help of a QR code or any product unique number. the data can be fetched from blockchain and customers verify all details about the product.
Administration Side Interface
in the administration side interface, data of all food items are collected from all stages through which food items are passed like suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers/wholesalers.
and in the final stage after collecting data of food items from all stages through which food items were passed are stored in a blockchain network to achieve transparency.
| Item Name | Type | No. of Units | Per Unit Cost (in Rs) | Total (in Rs) |
