FYP Proposal - SMART Switch Board for Home

Description

The SMART Switch Board is an electric switch board which will enable us to control our home appliances through an Android Device. However there are some same products available in the market but they are very expensive and limited only switch the devices on and off. But our proposed SMART Switch Board will provide the facility of controlling our devices through mobile phone as well as through manual controls which can be used in the absence of mobile device. It will provide some additional features as well, like:

• It will sense the voltages and control the electric supply to reduce the risk of damage due to fluctuation in voltages for particular device(s).
• Another core feature of this proposed system is that we can set the timer for our device(s) to auto turn off the devices to reduce unnecessary usage of electricity. 
• It will have a temperature sensor to sense the temperature of the surroundings to auto on/off our devices (like fan, AC or room heater etc.) based on the specified temperature. This is a very useful feature in such environments where a consistent temperature is needed.
• It will have an LED display to show the current voltages, temperature and other messages.
• An Encryption algorithm will be used to encrypt the data that is being exchanged between the SMART board and mobile application so that user security is at its highest level.
• It will be very cheaper than others.
• Deployment of this system will be very easy and simple. 

Primary Goals:

• Control our devices through a mobile phone and through some on-board controls.
• Set timer for devices to reduce usage of electricity.
• Sense the voltages and control devices accordingly to reduce damages.
• Sense temperature and control devices accordingly to keep the consistent temperature in environment.
• Secure Communication between Application and SMART Switch Board.
