Prototype Of Classical HVDC
A Classical HVDC is a high voltage direct current power transmission system which uses dc in stead of ac for the transmission of power. Dc transmission is effective and only feasible option for the longer ranges of power transmission. Why we need a DC transmission system? because in Ac transmission for longer ranges series line reactances and parallel line capactances blocks and short circuit AC longer the line more will be the effect so to transfer power over long ranges with better efficiency and less losses HVDC is the most effective option which is beneficial in terms of cost as well after a break even 800km point.
There are two technonlogies being used for HVDC transmission Classical and Light.
Currently we are working on the prototype of a *Classical HVDC which is based upon Thyristor based technologies which is used to handle higher flow of power can handle upto 10GW of power.
so in short we are working on Classical HVDC to understand all the principles and working of the DC transmission line which will be effective in the upcoming years and is our future as well.

Complete Funcionality
Efficient Power Transmission for longer ranges
Cheaper transmission for longer ranges (more than 800km point)
Less losses as compared to other transmission systems i.e AC system
Better Voltage Regulation as compared to other i.e AC system
Less Corridor space required as compare to others
Sole and best option for longer ranges power transmission after a breakeven 800 km point.
To implement a bipolar topology means We are making prototype of Classical HVDC with the bipolar topolgy being used it has several advantages that we are using two sources and loads because of bipolar topology.
using bipolar technology means 12 pulses so as compared to three or six pulses we will be delievering more power to the load.
We can flow biderectionl power at a time depending upon us which side we want it to travel.
To implement synchoronization with grid and double wire transmission system.
