Project Summary

Renewable energy is that type of energy which never runs out. Wind renewable energy is becoming a much more important power source now, because of their cost effectiveness and to avoid carbon emission that can harm our environment. In this paper we proposed the necessary steps for designing a small scale wind turbine system, we used fundamental components that are enough to generate electricity for reducing size, cost and complexity of small scale wind turbine system. The main concern of our proposal was to use of  power electronics converters in small scale wind turbine system that can reduce the bulkiness of wind turbine system and make it more efficient.

Project Implementation Method

Wind turbine system generally works with one of the renewable energy called wind , to convert wind energy into electrical energy the method we will use is shown  in block diagram (Fig:01) given blow.

At first a rotor is used consist of three blades for converting wind energy into mechanical energy and a shaft is connected to the rotor and link to a single-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), that works on the principle of electromagnetic induction, shaft rotates the coil of PMSG through which electricity is generated, then a filter is added to eliminate the DC components, after this stage a rectifier is connected that converts AC into DC and turns the frequency to 0. Afterword a DC Boost converter is used that boost-up the variable DC voltages up to  regulated 220 volts. At the last stage we have a inverter that switches boosted 220 volts DC into 220 volts AC at 50 hertz frequency, afterword it is supplied to the load.

4) Remote regions that aren't related to the electricity grid can use wind power system to provide their personal electricity.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Consume wind energy at different speed of wind and give 220 RMS volts.
