Project Summary

Pharmacy is a multidisciplinary field and has the potential to bring about revolutionary changes in substantially increasing pharmaceutical production and alleviation of diseases. This project is aiming to be designed according to the needs of a pharmacy department in a university. In this project, we will be developing a web-based management system to overcome the problems prevailing in the manual system. Moreover, the system will comprise a digital notice board to reduce the use of paper that has been used extensively for different announcements. The system will be entertaining three types of users i.e. administrator, faculty, and students. Each type of user will be provided with their necessary features. Admin will be capable of managing all students and faculty members. All faculty members will have their own personalized websites managed by themselves. Students will be informed of all the happenings occurring inside the department.

Project Objectives

The overall objective of this project to establish a system for the pharmacy department to improve the performance of faculty and student. To achieve this goal effectively, the following objectives will be achieved

•     To provide easy access to information related to the department
•      To provide a personalized website for each faculty member   
•  To provide a system easily managed by the admins

Project Implementation Method

The agile methodology will be used for project development because it allows the developers to use a continuous iterative approach throughout the development process. It will help in making any required changes in the project and incremental development. The implementation method of the project will start from requirements gathering and proceed towards designing, development, and testing of the project. However, the project development will be done in three phases i.e. admin panel, faculty personalized website, digital screen announcement. The digital display will be connected with the administration panel so that only approved announcements will be displayed on the notice board.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable will be a responsive web application having customized portals for faculty, student, and administration connected with a digital notice board. All announcements related to the department will be displayed on the notice board directly from the admin and faculty portal. The portals will be developed using HTML, javascript, and MySQL while the display will be connected via a microcontroller
