Project Summary

We have seen that the medical store keepers sometimes forget about medicines if they have it in their stock or not.  Also we have noticed that even if the pharmacist have medicines they get some new stock and the old ones gets behind the curtain and turns out to be a loss for them because selling the new stock the previous present one expires.  They have no record and tracking method of what they have and in how much quantity.  The pharmacist never knows how much stock is available and we have seen that when the customer comes to them they tell them after finding the medicines that it’s out of stock. The solution for pharmacy and user that we have come across is that user will be able to see the nearest pharmacies having the medicines which he wants. He will be given a Google map which will guide him through the location of the store.  The pharmacist can keep a record of medicines at his store.  He will be notified which stock is being finished. Also he will be given track of medicines that he already have according to the expiry date too. So that he first sell them rather selling from the new stock. This is to keep him away from facing any sort of loss. He will also be able to see which medicines have been sold most, he will be able to see a chart of it.

Project Objectives

Pharma recommendation system which will  search nearest pharmacies owning specific drug, view the price of it, viewing detailed information for a pharmacy, viewing drug’s details and cons-indications, configure and receive alerts about taking drugs , information about availability of drugs and every pharmacy store would have a inventory system for adding/updating new medical stock with the expiray date functionality which would help the pharmacy store to use the near to date medicines and items ,removing the stock with expired dates/notification of the expiring medicines, Point of sale system would be added to help the pharmacy stores with sales analysis and billing system. Pharmoogle is beneficial to Pharmacy by providing the following functionalities: patient interaction through App, sending prescription to pharmacies, confirming order

Project Implementation Method

• Design phase:

The design phase includes description of the proposed solution, its justification, and general comparison to other alternative solutions and designing of the initial diagrams which basically shows the basic architecture of the system. The initial diagram includes use cases and flowcharts. The system will be mobile based so user interface will also be design in this phase.

• Implementation phase:

The project will include a mobile-based application which has core features of showing pharmacy stores, medicine availability, its alternatives and online payment system for the medicines. While for the pharmacy interface web-based application will be incuded. The technology that we will be using for the project is at the current requirement gathering phase is tentative. It also includes database which we will be implementing using firebase. The software we will be using for a mobile-application is visual-studio code/Android studio.

• Testing and Evaluation phase:

Mobile-based application would be tested for anomalies in design, coding and integration with other software services. The main way of evaluating the project will be its accuracy. Precision of all the features of the system will be evaluated completely. The project will also be evaluated for user interface and usability.

Benefits of the Project

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

• Pharmacies Recommendation:

This will be the third screen coming up once after the user has done logging up into the system. This functionality will be integrated on the Google maps which will act as an in-app feature.

Nearest pharmacies will be displayed on the Google maps with the relevant information about it i.e. contact information, timings, etc. The results will be provided on the basis of records provided by the database.

• Medicine Searching:

After displaying the local pharmacies the system will provide the search bar, this is for the search functionality. User will be able to search the required medicine from the nearest pharmacies to his location. User will get the best pharmacies on the basis of reviews. After selecting resultant pharmacy, user will be able to see the information about the medicines and its available alternatives.

• Adding to Cart:

Adding medicine to the cart after selecting the required one will be the service offer to the user by the system. When user will be done shopping, he/she can go to the cart and can checkout easily. For payment user will be provided with credit card payment facility.

• Inventory Management:

For the pharmacist inventory management is the necessary facility he/she required in order run the pharmacy. Pharmacist will be able to add, remove and even update the inventory. Pharmacist will also be able to check the batches of medicine. He/she will also get the updates/notifications for the medicines near to expire or expired already and also the lot requirement. For example, which lot is finishing.

• POS System:

For the pharmacist interface he/she will get the functionality of checking the sales of the store/pharmacy by the automated point of sale system. This system will enables pharmacist to monitor every one of the orders, and the data are put away in one separate database.

Pharmacist will also be able to check the monthly sales by the customized charts.
