In conventional method attendance of person are taken by calling their names or signing on paper which is extremely time overwhelming. To eliminate this problem one of the solutions is a biometric-based attendance system that can automatically capture attendance by recognizing their thumb expression and also recognizing their iris. Iris recognition is regarded as one of the most reliable, accurate and efficient biometric identification system due to the inner characteristics of iris, such as uniqueness, immovability and time invariance. The aim of this project is to design and implement an iris recognition based attendance management system with the latest facilities at an accessible price to think about the financial situation of the large figure of developing countries. The project includes two parts, hardware and software. The hardware part is responsible to capture images and run required program whereas the software part is responsible for accusation, processing, iris localizing, adjusting, matching and storing data; send the attendance report to the predefined E-mail address. Finally, the system detects, calculates, stores, and transmits the results by implementing in Python program
Project ObjectivesIn developing this system, some project objectives had been specified. The main purpose of this project is to improve the current existing attendance system that in use by most of the colleges/universities by develop a fingerprint+iris-based attendance management system. Some objectives of this project had been identified and listed below.
- To replace the current existing attendance system process to fullycomputerized and automated attendance system.
- To develop a web-base attendance system in displaying every person attendance results effectively.
- To generate reports regarding to the person attendance in order toanalyze and tracking the employee attendance.
- To eliminate the chances for person to ask their buddy sign attendance for them through the implementation of fingerprint attendance system.
- To provide easier method in evaluate and analyze the person performance based on their attendance since the system will record the attendance more accurately and efficiently with minimum possible error.
The project scope of this project is to develop a hybrid attendance management system through the fingerprint scanning and iris recognition. In this project, desktop-based attendance system will be developed for a purpose just to obtain the fingerprint of person or the second option is through iris scanner. In addition, web-based attendance system will be developed for purposes to display the attendance status/condition of every staff,and also have leave option if someone on leave then according to organization policy their working hour will be final in the end of month generate reports related to the person attendance, and etc. Besides that, proper planning will be carry on in order to perform this project by using the project methodology that had been chosen.
This attendance system will only cover the functions related to organization staff attendance but not any others function related to another thing. So at the end of the project, a system will be developed which used for record the attendance of more efficiently and effectively through the fingerprint scanning and iris recognition. The purpose to carry out this system is to overcome the current problems in their current attendance system facing by the school, college, and university.

we need a good quality Web camera which take picture of a person then through captured picture a python based iris recognition program separate eyes from that capturd picure then make patterns of iris and stored in database whenover perosn come next time there iris pattern matched wih stored patterns and the second factor is fingerprint it take your fingerprint patterns and stored in database these two factor are used for person atttendance Iris recognition is used for person identification is the person actually present on the spot or not then fingerprint scanner used for person authentication then after this a pyhon with Django framework based website in which person can view your daily attendance report and also have leave approval option and also have different view level of attendance for example company CEO can view overall attendance report while Head of department can view attendance of their employee within department
