A Noval Design Microstrip Patch Array Antenna For 5-G Applications
Project Area of Specialization Information & Communication TechnologyProject SummaryWe are designing Microstrip Patch Array Antenna for 5G applications. We are using CST STUDIO for simulation based designing. The main goal is to design the micro strip antenna that significantly reduces structural complexity and hence the antenna size with a good radiation pattern and gain. We are working on achieving results on low frequencies for 5G applications. This is Implementation type project.
Project ObjectivesWe are working on achieving results on low frequencies for 5G applications. The problems which we are going to overcome are
- Larger size
- Lower gain
- More losses
Following tools and facilities are required
- Computer/Laptop core i5 or higher.
- CST Studio Suite.
- Substrate (FR4) with dielectric constant 4.3 for fabrication
- Lab for hardware and testing results
As our project design will be noval, so for this purpose we will do the literature review for better understanding. Then we will move towards our software work i.e simulation based design, optimization and simulated results. As we are working on array so there will be array design along with single element. Also we will apply different techniques for achieving desired bandwidths.
Next we will do the fabrication using gerber files and hardware testing of fabricated results.
In the end we will write a research paper.
Benefits of the ProjectMicrostrip patch antennas have been preferred for antenna design because its characteristics are suitable for commercial wireless applications.
- High-speed mobile network
- Entertainment and multimedia
- Internet of Things – Connecting everything
- Smart Home
Following are our final deliverables.
1.Simulation based work(single element antenna)
2.Simulation based work(array antenna)
3.Optimized based simulated results
4.Hardware based work(fabricated antenna)
5.Measured results
6.Research paper work
