Unlawful act is growing rapidly. Crimes are increasing day by day. No one is fully secure in this progressing world. Crimes i.e. Murder, kidnapping, child abuse, child pornography, drug adductors, harassment etc. are the major crimes are taking place in our society. Furthermore, handicaps who are unable to explain their problems to a random persons and psycho patients who don’t know what to do can be lost in this cruel world. We can stop these crimes by tracking criminal heads. On the other hand, different objects such that car, bike, mobile etc. sometimes get lost due to our irresponsibility can also be tracked. This problem can be reduced with the help of a tracking device which can give the concerned person an exact location. To implement this, we need to use modern and smart technologies like IoT (Internet of Things) where everything is connected to every other thing over a network. If we can use IoT, Lora wan module and wireless connected sensors in a right way, it can help us produce a device which can give the exact location of a person. To overcome this issue, we have come up with an idea of tracking device that can track almost everything present in our environment. The device will collect information from GPS module through Lora wan and show us the exact location and log GPS data through USB flash.

Project Objectives

Crimes i.e. kidnapping, killing, robberies etc. are increasing day by day and due to the sudden rise in their rates parents does not feel secure while sending their child outside the house. But children cannot be prisoned in the houses as they are the future of our nation and for better future they must step out of their houses and should learn from their environment. Imprisonment is not a solution in such a developing time period. Similarly, aged people sometimes step out of their house for work purpose and due to their age factor lost their home and psycho patients escape their homes does not know the difference between right and wrong can be harmful for our society. Nowadays internet of things (IOT) is present in almost every aspect of life and using this with other modules i.e. Lora wan, GPS and TTGO a tracker can be made which can give us the location for security of our beloved ones and objects.

Project Implementation Method

In this project, we will show how to get GPS data from a remote GPS micro-controller via wireless Lora protocol and show the track on google earth. Client side will get the data from GPS and send out to server via Lora wireless, server-side then listens to the Lora frequency and will turn on the LED and log GPS data to a USB flash. Transceiver will give us advantages in both blocking and selectivity over conventional modulation techniques. In GPS part L80 GPS (based on MTK MT3339) provides location and timing info, connected to micro controller. Lora bee is a module that allow users to send data based on S*1276/S*1278 transceiver. We will also use Software serial.h and Radiohead.h therefore, put the two libraries into IDE libraries. We store the GPS data in the file "/data/datalog.csv" of USB flash, so we need to create a directory named "data" in the USB flash. Client and server will be connected. We will use hardware serial to communicate with the GPS and use software serial (RX/D3, TX/D4) to debug via ESP 32 micro controller. So, we connect the client to computer by TTL to USB adapter, On the Lora put RXD/TXD jumpers on the status (connect GPS to hardware serial) power them by 12vbatteries and connect them to the computer with a cable. All this step makes sure you have put SoftwareSerial.h and Radiohead.h in your IDE libraries. We use UNO + Lora as a client. We need to press the "RST" button to reset the GPS so that the sketch can be uploaded successfully and to release occupation of micro controller hardware serial until upload done. Open IDE version (v1.6.8) .... Copy client's sketch to IDE and upload to the board.

Upload server's sketch to micro controller. GPS module can be restored by driving RESET to low level voltage for a certain time and then releasing it. Press the RST button will reset the digital port of the GPS receivers.

When GPS notified, running result from client via software serial. GPS fixed, it's server and client in transmission range we can see LED flashing on D4 on server. Then you we can find "datalog.csv" file in data folders in USB flash, open folder and you will see longitude and latitude data collected by GPS receiver.

Data processing converts csv to kml so we can import the catalog to google Earth for this purpose we can use KMLESV converter. Then import maps open "the datalog.kml" by the google Earth, we can see GPS track here.

In this project, we get the GPS data successfully

Benefits of the Project

The goal of our project is to provide the exact location of the objects and humans and giving security to people regarding their beloved ones and items. This device will give us the exact location of our object or person i.e. mobile, child etc. up to 10 km and its battery timings will be 1 month. If maintained properly it can help us not only to protect our child but also to capture these criminals and can stop many other criminal activities by finding their leaders. This device will be easy to use as the user just had to monitor and it can be of low cost so that everyone can afford it and protect his belongings.
