Poor power qualities affect functioning of utilities, different industrial units, productions, and customer services another system performance and operating costs. With an increase in the use of electricity in Pakistan, the problem of power system constraints in which electricity transmission is limited has become significant. In our nation there is a lots of problems occurs in power sector mostly in distribution lines most of the areas in any seasons there is fault occurs due to natural as well as manmade accidents this results to electrocution occurs and causes many life losses. And if any fault occurred in our area we need to call service man to clear the fault. There is an ever increasing need for power quality monitoring systems due to the growing number of sources of disturbances in AC power systems. In our Product “SMART MONITORING” our team “Power Tech” provides system architecture for HT line monitoring, metering and continuous surveillance of the transmission lines in real time. This product will encounter the main electrical parameters of transmission line, fault detection, and graphical user interface of transmission line data. Authorized person operate the HT line breaker remotely. “SMART MONITORING” compatible with two communication channel wired & wireless communication and follow the IEC-61850 protocol. The utilization of renewable energy sources (RES) has become inevitable, not only due to the increasing scarcity of fossil fuels, but also to sustain life on Earth, so there is a need to monitor the parameters of power for timely service the renewable energy sources. United Nation for Sustainable Development Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. “SMART MONITORING” in Renewable Energy will incorporate the efficiency of power networks. Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. Substation needs a lineman for monitoring and make and break HT line circuit breaker, through “SMART MONITORING” the lineman can easily monitor the electrical parameters and control the HT line circuit breaker from control room. Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization. By monitoring the Transmission Line parameters significantly increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable access to the Internet. Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. By investing more on the protection devices we will make our power system more safe and reliable. Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. “SMART MONITORING” will provide statistics of power consumption of a particular area, it helps the line man to remotely monitor the transmission line data and control the power consumption from control room.
In “SMART MONITORING” our team “Power Tech” provides system architecture for HT line monitoring, metering and continuous surveillance of the transmission lines in real time.
This product will encounter the main electrical parameters of transmission line, fault detection, and graphical user interface of transmission line data.
Authorized person operate the HT line breaker remotely. In case of emergency and servicing the switchgear lineman can turn on and off the circuit breaker remotely.
Transmission Line data is to be logged on board as well as on cloud, therefore lineman can make the decision of load balancing.
It also has on board display of electrical parameters such as current, voltage, power factor etc. So that lineman could monitor the data on substation as well.
There are two communication channels wired and wireless, and our team “Power Tech” uses the communication protocol for intelligent electronic devices at electrical substations IEC-61850. It has the current and voltage sensors, which are connected with the protection device (Switchgear). Sensors send the data to the embedded microcontroller, it will programmed and process the sensors data and through Ethernet cable it will connect to the PTCL DSL router and sends the data to the cloud. It will use the HTTP protocol for sending and receiving the data to the cloud. In control room lineman can get the transmission line data of multiple networks and the data has shown digitally and graphically. Android application is also used for monitoring the data wirelessly from anywhere. A Relay is connected to the microcontroller to make and break the HT line circuit breaker. Lineman can remotely control the HT line circuit breaker in case of any fault and during the servicing of HT breaker. Transmission Line data will be logged on cloud and on board as well. In case internet is not working, lineman can get the data by just plug on USB on it. It also has on board display of electrical parameters, so that servicing team could see the position of the circuit breaker before servicing the HT breaker.

When the data of transmission line is monitored the lineman can predict the faults from control room, and that is beneficial for the assets of the power system.
Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. “SMART MONITORING” will provide statistics of power consumption of a particular area, it helps the lineman to remotely monitor the transmission line data and control the power consumption from control room.
“SMART MONITORING” will monitor the main electrical parameters of transmission line such as line current, line voltages, power factor, energy consumption in one hour (KWH), link down detection, and fault detection.
It is compatible with wired and wireless connectivity, and follows the IEC standards for intelligent electronic devices at electrical substations IEC-61850.
All the substation devices conditions are displayed in Graphical User Interface (GUI) developed using LABVIEW software and on Android application (BLYNK).
Authorized person could operate the HT line circuit breaker remotely from control room or through an android application.
It also has on board display for monitoring data and keypad for setting the device for particular protection equipment (switchgear).
Transmission line data would be logged on cloud and on board as well, so that in case of non-connectivity to the internet the data has been saved on the board and lineman can easily get it by just plug a USB on it.
