This is because of the fixed charging criteria for electricity usage, no matter how much each student uses electricity. So, our project IOT Based Billing Management System For Hostel is capable to determine the electricity usage of each room individually.
This project helps student to determine the load they are using and the units they are consuming. Students can monitor live electrical parameter such as voltage, current, power and energy. The project is designed in such a fashion that it updates itself after every five second and student can monitor these parameter live on the website.
This project simply eradicate the fixed charging criteria from hostel management because it generates live bill of electricity consumption on the website which is accessible to student and hostel management.
With the help of this project hostel management and students are updated by the alert of fixed unit set by hostel management to the student. After the consumption of these units hostel management and student will get alert with an sms and required action can be taken by management.
In a nut shell this system helps student to keep them aware of their consumption and pay bill accordingly.
Project Objectives- Design and implement efficient system that provide accurate electricity consumption by each student
- Design and implement a type of system that provides real time data.
- Implementation of IOT (internet of thing) capable of transferring data over a network without human –to-human interaction.
- Design a type of system that helps student to pay of what they use.
The system we've designed is user friendly that can implemented with ease. This system can be connected to the main circuit board of the building having circuit breakers of each room. There are sub meters for each room and the phase wire of each room will be passed through current transformer of the sub meter.
Then this sub meter block will send data to our database. This data consisting of electrical parameter can be seen to our well designed user friendly website.
Benefits of the ProjectThis project can be implemented in hostels where management and student needs to check their usage status.
It can also be implemented in rented rooms and in rented shops where the owner who doesn’t got any sub meter and is facing the problem in getting a sub-meter connection from K-Electric, for their single room or shop etc. Owner can charge according to the bill, generated on the web.
It can be implemented in industry to determine the machine unit consumption and to determine the no of hours machine is running. This data will be stored automatically in the database which can be viewed at any time at any place.
There are numerous benefits of it, depending on the user application. One application could be that it can be upgraded to immediately detect the faulty machine or any other equipment and the information can be provided through instant messaging of its power and current drop.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable- This should be handled and implemented by profesional having experience because it is operated in 220 volts which can be dangerous if precaution were not followed correctly.
- This system is suitable for indoor, not outdoor use.
- The applied load should not exceed the rated power i.e 22kW
- The wiring can not be wrong other explosion may occur.
