Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryIoT based smart framework for Distribution System monitoring, fault detection and classification has been designed, tested and implemented. The System also ensures efficient operation of adaptive protection schemes to protect Distribution System against all the equipment and safety hazards in case of short circuit Faults. Quicker and immediate actions are ensured to minimize the impact of Faults.
Project ObjectivesOur objective is to provide an Efficient Monitoring scheme for short circuit Faults in the Distribution System and an intelligent fault detection. To make the Distribution system reliable and self -healing from power system disturbances. which will keep our system protected from different hazards. which will save huge amount of repairing cost.
Project Implementation MethodThis project is based on IOT and RTES(real time embedded systems). These systems are capable of quick actions on different faults, like pic18 microcontroller which is itself a computer. And can-do different tasks with less time delay. and, we use esp8266 microcontroller for IOT purpose.
Benefits of the Project- This project will minimize deaths due to electric shocks.
- Transformers are very expensive and there repairing cost is much higher so this will also reduce.
- Easily monitor fault section and isolate it automatically.
- Load sheading will be minimize.
- This project is based on pic18 microcontroller which is used as a CPU for processing different faults.
- Our project also capable of notifying a fault on mobile phone or any other system like laptop. For that purpose, we use esp8266 chip for communication between our project and mobile phone.
- We use push buttons for creating manual fault for testing purpose.
