Project Summary

Shopping Region Locator:

The Geographic Information Systems (GISs) archives, organize, analyze, and present/visualize geographic or spatial data. This process enables the users to query the spatial data and view results interactively. The users can also visualize information in multiple thematic layers. In this project, our objective is to design and develop a GIS tool to provide user interaction with interested shopping regions of Rawalpindi/Islamabad, e.g., electronics, mobiles, apparel, grocery, restaurants, etc. The system offers multiple themes, and support user queries to visualize the important shopping region. The tool also provides notifications facility for the registered users of their nearby preferred shopping locations. The users can also rate shopping regions. By using this tool, the users will : (i) be able to find the best place for shopping in their surrounding locations (ii) get an idea about locations, know about how they look like, and what is famous there, and (iii) rate the shopping regions. (iv) Share their eperience on social media platoform. In addition to this, the tool also assists the tourists and foreigners in identifying the trusted shopping regions.

Project Objectives

Main objectives to develop this tool are:-
a) Help user to specify context of best places for shopping in their surrounding locations.
b) Help user of the application to get an idea about location, know about how they look like,
and what is famous there.
c) To support shopping decisions by using different customizable themes.

Project Implementation Method

Implementation Method:

• Android based mobile application having firebase as a database and gps for location.
• GIS component (data)for spatial representation using digitalization of data.

• Users will be able to find the best place for their respective work in their surrounding location(s).
• Using themes user will get idea about its location that how it looks like and what is famouse there.
• Foreigners and tourists will be assisted to find the best trusted place for their work around them.
• Rating will help in increasing or decreasing the credibility of that place.
