Project Summary

Cycling is a great form of exercise, it has many physical, mental, and social benefits. However, with the current COVID-19 crisis, cyclists around the world are finding they can only do short, solo rides or in the case of those countries that are on full lockdown, confined to indoor cycling for the foreseeable future.
My project basically coverts a simple bicycle into a static state operable machine supported with virtual reality.

Project Objectives

Objective is to coverts a simple bicycle into a static state, operable machine, supported with virtual reality to give user a visual tour though a computer designed enviroment.

Project Implementation Method

Implementation of my project will go through the following phases
1. Environment designing on blender
2. User Interface designing and gamifying on unity

3. Integrating path sensor and speed sensor on bike

4. Visualising the movement of the bike rider in the environment, using speed from speed sensors and direction from path sensors.

5. Displaying the environment through oculus rift.

Benefits of the Project

Gamifying exercise will encourage kids as well as adults to have a fun and healthy experience.

Healthy Entertainment  

High-intensity cycling is 12 – 13% less painful when combined with virtual reality.

Exercising in VR with the right games can burn more calories than most dedicated workout equipment at the gym.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A cycle mounted on a specially designed stand for lifting and balancing both its wheels stationary. The rear wheel is attached to a speed sensor and the front wheel is attached to a path sensor, the bike rider pedals to move around in the environment and uses oculus rift (Virtual Reality headset)
