A Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) device provides reactive power to the grid enhancing controllability and improving the performance of the transmission system. Among the family of converter-based FACTS devices, we worked on the hardware model of STATCOM for low level Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is a reliable device and has been installed in many countries around the world. The usual interest of a STATCOM device is to control transmission voltage by reactive power shunt compensation.this device contain a VSC(Voltage Source Converter) used to convert stored DC Voltage into AC Voltage.and send it to the transmission line by comapring line voltage with the fixed voltages.if the transmission line voltages is less then the fixed voltages this device acts as a Source and when line voltages is greater then required voltages they act as a sink device to stored extra voltages
The VSC includes the IGBT bridge and the capacitor bank, the IGBT bridge applies the pulse sequence generated by the Space-Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) block at 3 kHz of commutation frequency. The DC voltage (VDC) is measured at the capacitor bank and sampled by the control system and it is valid for maximum 3000VA load
The objective of facts is to compensate Reactive Power,Power Factor and improvement of Voltage level because in transmission line voltage inequility, reactive power consuming create a huge power loss in order to minimize these losses this device is to be here.we worked on the hardware model of Statcom for low level .this project is designed for only 3000VA Load.
STATCOM device is implemented with the help of a PIC/ARDUINO controller we have control strategy for both controller.they generate a SVPWM(Space Vector PWM)signal to the drive of IGBT's with differebt delay time where igbt's turn OFF or ON in some specific time by comparing the line voltages by PLL (Phase Looked Loop) and Clark's transformation

In order to implement SVPWM
first we determine vref and angle
then we dtermine T0,T1and T2 by coverting AC voltages into timing diagram
last determine the switiching sequence
by getting these things we successfully implement SVPWM through microcontroller for the drive of igbt's
