Soil testing is a vital part of agricultural and horticultural management. This device has been specially developed to aid the farmer to grow crops providing quick ‘on the spot’ analysis of soil. The range covers basic needs such as PH, NPK & H2OSensors for soil to measure a wide of trace elements.
Our project helps to decrease the toxic effect of chemicals being used for end user Hence, it neutralizes the inorganic process.
A lot of time is being wasted while testing the soil which is used to grow crops. Because of the long duration of laboratory testing, farmers ignore it and proceed to add fertilizers based on their unacademic knowledge which is harmful for the crops and the soil. Our project's objective is to make a device which would give the same readings which are given in the laboratories.
In this system the hardware we will use is raspberry-pi 4, NPK sensor, humidity sensor, PH sensor and also a mobile phone which will display the result. A prototype robot will also be made to dig the soil. In software we are using Python and Java programing languages.
This project will be beneficial for the farmers who spend days waiting for the results of the soil test. By using this device, they will be able to easily get the same readings given by the laboratories.
First the robot will approach the area where the soil needs to be tested with the help of a motor. The robot will then dig the soil and take out a portion of the soil, which would be sufficient for the testing and then the sensors would take the readings of the soil. The readings of the sensors would be shown on a mobile application on a mobile phone with the help of the raspberry pi programed on the robot.
