Project objectives is to develop soil water characteristic curve (SWCC), correlate the field and both site results.and to find the basic engineering properties of expansive soil.Find a solution to these soil problems and addition to the already existence data.
The main objective of our research is to find the basic engineering properties of expansive soil, any deviation of soil properties from standard or normal soil by compairing and correlating the lab and field data and at the end develop water characteristic curve from water potential and water content.
We will visit to our selectable sites and perform the practical tests their and then we will compare it with theoretical results and analyze the expansive soil with the help of collected data. We will visit our selected sites and collected the samples of expansive soil from 2ft, 4ft, 6ft.Than we will perform different tests on samples like Moisture content, Atterberg limits, Standard proctor test, sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, specific gravity, XRD, SEM etc to gain theoretical data.At the end we will analyze the expansive soil by comparing the results of Karak and Kohat and also theoretical and practical data. We also use PLAXIS software for our project.
According to our opinion, this research will be great impact on industry and private sectors. Because the life of infrastructure should be increased by analyze the expansive soil and hope it will save financial loss.
