Project Summary

In the current generation most of the countries do not have sufficient skilled man power in the agriculture sector and it affects the growth of developing countries. So it’s a time to automate the agriculture sector to overcome this problem by using upgraded technology for cultivation activity. The basic operation of sowing machine is to saw the seed in row at the required depth and maintain the distance between two seeds. Solar panel is used to capture solar energy and then it is converted into electrical energy. This energy is used to charge 12V battery which is utilized by DC motors.. By using this innovative project of seed sowing machine we can save more time required for sowing process and it also reduces labor cost. This machine controls the seed depth and proper utilization of seeds to reduce the wastage of seeds.

Project Objectives

  • Sowing seeds with proper distance and depth

Due to this machine we are able to plant seeds with proper distance between them. So amount required to sowing of seed per hector are fix. This also helps to increase the germination of seed, because seed to seed space is proper so plant get space to grow up. 

  • Reduce Time

The most important objective for this invention is to reduce the time of sowing seeds with fertilization. In the conventional method the sowing by means of hands (manually) which take too much time to complete the sowing in the whole farm. Reduce in time result in increasing the efficiency.

  • Reduce Work done

Due to this invention the total work done by the farmer for sowing is decreases, because the farmer have not to carry the heavy bag of seeds and fertilizer and throughout the sowing process and the work of sowing by means of hands also gone reduce. In attempting to obtain maximum yields, we have to,

· To achieve proper sowing of seed in seeding mechanism.

· To make this machine which is ox operate for small farmer.

· To provide this machine in lowest cost and light in weight.

· To adjust proper depth in variable soil in any whether condition.

Project Implementation Method

In our project we are going to perform automatic digging and seed sowing. Solar panel used to capture solar energy and then it is converted into electrical energy. This energy is used to charge 12V battery which is utilized by DC motors. After this, wheel’s motors start to rotate then machine will start. Machine will dig the soil through ploughing and make furrows. At the same instant seed dropper motor starts to rotate. Seed is dropped in furrow and the seed is covered with soil.

  • It maintains the proper row spacing.
  • The seeds can be placed at proper depth.
  • Seed rate can be controlled.
  • Many seeds can be sown by this machine.
  • Due to small size machine is portable. And can also be used in small area.
  • Cost efficient.
  • Less Man Power will be used.
  • Save energy, money and time of a farmer.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Tinkercad is a free, easy-to-use app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It's used by teachers, kids, hobbyists, and designers to imagine, design, and make anything.

that's why we used tinkercad for our project simulation.this project is basically to sow the seed in proper way which can increase the overall efficiency of the seed germination.we used dc gear motor for movement of this machine and used servo motor which are placed at funnal bottom to drop seed one at time.
