Automated ignition lock system for drunk drive
These days it is quite frequent that people drink alcohol. It is even more common for them to drive vehicles even when drunk. We aim to create a method that detects the people who are drunk and do not let them drive while drunk. Our project aims to use sensors that sense the alcohol and stop the vehicle engine when it detects a particular alcohol level. Using Raspberry Pi we aim to bring automated, transparent, noninvasive alcohol safety checks into vehicles. The system uses raspberry pi with alcohol sensors, a dc motor, and an LCD display circuit to achieve this purpose. The system uses an alcohol sensor with, raspberry pi with a dc motor to demonstrate as vehicle engine. System constantly monitors the sensitivity of alcohol sensor for drunk driver detection. If driver is drunk, the processor instantly stops the system ignition by stopping the motor. If alcohol sensor is not giving high alcohol intensity signals, system lets engine run. The raspberry pi processor constantly processes the alcohol sensor data to check drunk driving and operates a lock on the vehicle engine accordingly.
This project has the following objectives:
This project is a combination of hardware and software. The prototype uses raspberry pi 4 with alcohol sensors, dc motor, and LCD display circuit to achieve this purpose. The system uses alcohol sensors with, raspberry pi with a dc motor to demonstrate as a vehicle engine.
Our prototype has the following benefits:
Accident prevention: The primary purpose of our project is to build a system that prevents people from being drunk and driving. Drunk people cause a lot of accidents when they drive vehicles. Our system stops people from drinking and driving. By detecting alcohol the engine does not run, until the level of alcohol does not get low. This prevents the majority of the accidents that occur on the road.
Environment friendliness: When all the people who drive the vehicle are not drunk and in proper minds, lots of road conflicts are reduced. People would drive carefully, their health would be enhanced by not consuming alcohol and a friendly environment is cultivated.
Health benefits: When people are not allowed to consume alcohol, their health is greatly improved.
Diminishing Alcohol culture: The culture of consuming alcohol is greatly diminished when everyone who drinks and drive is not allowed to drive a vehicle unless the alcohol level is reduced.
Safety: The roads would be safer and friendlier to drive.
Future Scope: It is a great model for the future generation of cars. We believe this prototype shall be implemented in every car. In order to prevent accidents and drink and drive cases, this prototype shall be implemented in every car.
The project consists of both software and hardware parts.
Software parts:
Hardware components:
The system uses Raspberry Pi 4 as the processing unit. Raspberry pi is used with alcohol sensors, dc motors, and an LCD display circuit in order to detect the alcohol level and if the alcohol level is detected, it stops the engine. The system uses an alcohol sensor with, raspberry pi with a dc motor to demonstrate as a vehicle engine.
