Project Summary

Hydroponic system in which a plant is placed in a solution composed of soluble nutrients and water as opposed to soil. In most standard hydroponic systems, parameters such as Electrical Conductivity (EC) and pH of the solution are set to the desired value while setting up the system. Hydroponics agriculture is considered as one of the mechanisms used by the food industry to reduce this shortfall in the production in controlled environmental parameters like soil moisture, temperature, humidity (Saha, 2017). This project is to increase and enhance the utilization of hydroponics as well as to create an environmentally independent system for plant growth in indoors. Agriculture plays key role in economic growth of a country and is basic need of human life cycle (Nalwade & Mote, 2017). In past few decades, the world is facing drastic climate change results in changing environmental factors like seasonal shifts, floods etc. These changes also affected agriculture by decreasing quality and production of crop. Increasing world population also increasing food necessity day by day (Collado et al., 2018).

Project Objectives

Hydroponics system is a growing plant system that does not use soil but uses water with nutrients to save space planting and not contaminated with chemicals in the soil This project targets to automate the control and monitor a closed hydroponic system. The system is able to maintain the parameters and promote healthy plant growth A complete system shall be able to maintain itself with minimal manual input. This aims to create a fully automated hydroponic system that is low cost and fairly easy for the average user to operat

Project Implementation Method

We did programming on audino and then connect sensors with it and use blink app we monitor everything on it and we monitor our plant condition even we are far from home. 

Benefits of the Project

Growing certain plants and vegetables in remote areas such as deserts or areas where certain conditions are not suitable for cultivation. Plants grown in gardens and fields are introduced to a host of variables that negatively impact their health and growth. Fungus in the soil can spread diseases to plants. Wildlife like rabbits can plunder ripening vegetables from your garden.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This will measure water conditions: pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, level, and flow. This will enable measure air conditions, water temperature, humidity, water temperature and CO2. It will enable us remote monitoring and control of the system. We will use a Camera to monitor plants with a live video stream. It will regulate temperature, water level, pH and nutrients.
