Zig Bee based wireless security alert system
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryLack of security system is one of the reasons for sudden domestic deaths in Pakistan. According to different reports, around 500 people are dying in Pakistan every year due to Natural gas (Sui Gas) leakage. To detect gas leakage we will use Zigbee device which has low power consumption and wide range communication. Our goal is to protect homes from problems such as fire and gas leakage.
Project ObjectivesIn this proposed model we want to achieve five aspects:
To Design an Embedded System: In this project we will use Zigbee device with arduino microcontroller that control all the module and things.
Accident Avoiding Feature: We will use exhaust fan to reduce the gas from the place, a smart gas valve that OFF the main valve and for notify the local people automatically weeping the buzzer.
GSM Module: GSM module is used to send the message of gas leakage.
IOT Module: This module is used for app notification.
Sensor Module: This module is used to sense the gas leakage, smoke, temperature.
Project Implementation MethodHardware approuch:
In this project two Arduino microcontroller board will be used.
This microcontroller consists of built-in analogue-digital converter (ADC), which able to read the analogue signal from the combustible gas sensor,
Arduino (1) is connected to the alarm system, control system, display system (LCD) and Zigbee transmitter.
On the other hand, Arduino (2) is connected to monitoring system and Zigbee receiver only. When the gas leakage is detected by the combustible gas sensor and fire detected by temperature sensor, the analogue signal is converting into digital signal with the ease Arduino (1) built-in conversion.
Then the processing signal is transmitted through Zigbee transceiver to the LabVIEW GUI.
Software approach:
1) Graphical user interface (GUI) shows three types of indicator lights as the different conditions, in terms of safety level, warning, and the dangerous level.
When there is small amount of gas leakage detected, the exhaust fan is triggered to ventilate the gases out from the room.
When the gas leakage exceeds a certain threshold, the alarm signal will be triggered alarm signal will triggered to alert to users. At the same time in the monitoring part, it will inform the user upon leakage and took immediate action to control main valve.
Benefits of the Projectzigbee based wireless system, GPS and alarm signals alerts us the moment of gas in room. These tools increase the available time to evaluate the situation and call the pertinent emergency response units.
Time-saving, Conduit-free setup, and maintenance:
Wireless gas detection system are remotely installed without the use of wires. This installation setup saves time and money. Wireless Gas Detection Systems also have little maintenance costs compared to wired gas detection systems.
Ease of Use and Implementation:
Wireless gas detection systems are easy to use and implement. When setting them up, we simply need mount the units and turn them on. No wiring technology required from the monitor to the sensor or from the sensor to an external power source. A good wireless system provides 12 months of monitoring before the battery should be replaced.
Safe and Dependable:
Another benefit of a wireless gas detection system is that they are one of the lowest risk gas detection systems on the market. They are safe and dependable. There are no wires that need to be connected or cut. So there are low risks of damaging the system or injuring yourself. They are also dependable because we can be assured of their accuracy.
Cost Effectivenes:
While safety and efficiency are the major factors to consider when looking for a gas detection system, cost is also a valid concern. Wireless gas detection systems don’t break the bank like some other systems in market.
Building confidence:
Wireless gas systems and the data they collect are integral tools for verifying the effectiveness of occupational health and environmental controls to protect the health of people living in homes, the community and the surrounding environment.
