The idea of generating electricity from wind was first introduced by Shawn Frayne in 2004. He discovered the device that converts wind into electricity. This device works on the simplest phenomena called Aero elastic flutter. When air passing over a strip of belt , aero elastic flutter effect is produced , it will create frequencies that translate into vibrations and in the wind belt case , which converts into energy , this device converts wind energy into electrical energy by means of a stretched membrane and few magnets located within coils. The movement causes a change in the strength of the magnetic field applied to the electrical conductor. It induces a current flowing in the conductor thus generating electricity.
The wind belt is a wind power harvesting device invented by Shawn Frayne in 2004for converting wind power to electricity. It consist of a flexible polymer ribbon stretched between supports transverse to the wind direction, with magnets glued to it, when the wind blows across it, the ribbon vibrates due to aero elastic flutter, similar to the action of alien harp. The vibrating movement of the magnets induces current in nearby pickup coils by electromagnetic induction.

As already discussed that I am working on a generator prototype so when this generator will be built on large scale so it can replace wind mills, and as we know wind mills supply electricity to the areas that are not connected to the grid stations so this wind belt generator can also supply electricity to the areas that are not connected to the to the grid stations.
And this prototype of wind belt generator can be used anywhere anytime.
We can use it in our electrical lab of our university to power electronic devices and equipment’s.
We decided to introduce wind belt generator in order to overcome the problem of rural areas. In rural areas, electricity is generated through kerosene lamp, which produce smoke and is related to harmful effects on health. In rural areas people cannot afford the cost of expensive technologies for generating electricity so the wind belt generator seems to be very effective device in rural areas. The wind belt generator is a practical way to get lighting.
We found that the previous systems in the field of requesting systems were using the wind mills in order to generate. The previous systems are using extra labor as in the form of operators and have lack in precisions but our system will cure these problems it will reduce the expenditure per request and work very effectively. Our system will be a user friendly easy to handle but require care in handling up to a certain level.
