Virtual Trial Room
There are many customers who hesitate while using the dressing room in the shopping mall because of spy cameras. During Eid or any festival shopping stores are filled with customers which wastes the time of customers because of long queues waiting for their turn to come.
In these days handling/catering shopping is becoming hard and time consuming task due to the number of customers available at a time in a store and because of the amount of guesswork involved in determining if clothing suits and ?ts the individual well. A virtual dressing room enables shoppers to try on virtual clothes to check one or more sizes, ?ts or styles rather than physically doing so, allowing shoppers to make their purchases quickly and easily.
On the basis of our research, there has been a lot of work done previously on this particular project idea. In the beginning it involved working on 2d images that were captured by the camera. It involved superimposing of the image of the customer on previously built 2d skeleton also called mesh. The drawback of using this technique was that the image of the customer got hidden in front of the 2d structured catalogue, and also the movement by the customer was not fully catered because of it. Gradually the idea of 3d mesh was used. Microsoft Kinect and Asus Xtion was used for motion detection, body gesture movement. And Unity was used to create a 3d skeleton that helped cater the complete 3d movement by the customer so that it can see how the clothing looks on it.
The main aim of this project is to change the idea of old fashioned dressing rooms by means of technology and minimizing the security hazards and size concerns for the customer.[1] Trail of clothes in the shopping stores really wastes the time of the shopkeeper and as well as the customers who are waiting for their turn. And it frustrates the customers waiting in long queues for their turn to come. And as well as customers hesitate to change the clothes in the dressing room because of security reasons. So this has helped us a lot to come with this idea of adequate body suiting which helps to address these problems. Customers get a chance to try on clothes without using dressing room and through it they can check the fitting and the look of the dress. Additionally once the customer knows how the dress looks like in the virtual dressing room, then there is a less chance of return. It attracts the customers towards the shop. It also helps the shop owners when they are many customers in the shop. And lastly it saves the garments from damage due to heavy try on clothes.
Project will be implemented using
motion sensing, hand and body gestures movements
? Oculus Rift S headset VR to view.
? Asus Xtion
? Powered PC to connect Oculus.
And
? C#
C# is the most powerful programming language available out there. Since, Unity supports C# programming language; therefore we have used it as our project development programming language.
? OpenCV
OpenCV is an open source library for face and body detection. We have used it to extract body markers from camera and for pre-processing before body detection.
? Unity
We have used Unity as our main development platform because of the widely Virtual Reality (VR) libraries and assets available in it and it is one of the most powerful and widely used Virtual Reality (VR) available in the market.
? ISTTT API
For voice recognition ISTTT api will be used to integrate the voice recognition system to our system.

1) 3d environment that will have realtime generated mannequin through Asus Xtion
2) Voice recognition for size input
3) Virtual selection of clothes from the rack and displayed on the mannequin.
4) Opinion about whether it needs tailoring or not.
