Project Summary

The field of clinical psychology is a very vast and ever growing filed and the field of Virtual Reality is not far behind. Both of these technologies are fast growing and are making leaps and bounds in different psychological and technological breakthroughs. But this growth is not just limited to their own fields, they can work cohesively to make different VR simulations that will be used to treat psychological patients.

Our project i.e. The VR Therapist will work in the following fields:

• Clinical Psychology.
• Virtual Reality.

The VR Therapist will assist Physiotherapist in analyzing patients condition and help in providing optimal solutions in a virtual simulation/environment while maintaining a sense of privacy and security for the patient and without the hassle of going all the way  to the doctor or a chiropractor for scheduled exercises.

Project Objectives

Through this project we hope to achieve the following goals:

• A working virtual environment suitable for conducting sessions.
• An analysis of the physical state of patient based on responses and sentence patterns.
• Proper treatment suggestions and possible solutions for patient treatment.
• Properly adapt the best treatment practices and standards.
• Provide a calm and assuring environment in order get best possible results.
• Maintain Doctor-Patient confidentiality

Project Implementation Method

A VR simulation created using objects and models in Unity 3d IDLE will construct the session. The said session will comprise of a series of questions whose answers will determine the ailment by using machine learning. The algorithm will continuously monitor the Q/A session and gather all the relevant details from it. The responses and all relevant data will be stored in a data table. After which, the data will be analyzed and a corresponding solution will be provided. The patient will also be able to provide feedback as to which exercise was best suited to treat a certain ailment.

Benefits of the Project

The project will provide the following benefits:

• Online remote data access.
• Transparent data storage.
• Reduced medical cost.
• Patient motivation, adaptability, and variability based on patient baseline.
