Project Summary

It uses a radically new approach to capturing wind energy. The device captures the energy of vortices, an aerodynamic effect that has plagued structural engineers and architects for ages (vortex shedding effect). As the wind bypasses a fixed structure, its flow changes and generates a cyclical pattern of vortices. Once these forces are strong enough, the fixed structure starts oscillating, may enter into resonance with the lateral forces of the wind, and even collapse. There is a classic academic example of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which collapsed three months after its inauguration because of the Vortex shedding effect as well as effects of flattering and galloping. 

The characteristic that set this wind generator apart from others is that it is fully supported and rotates with no risk of animal killing. This is vertically oriented with at the centre moving mast and generator.  
 It seems that basic generator would be most effective placing inside mast. The magnet used inside coil is cylindrical shape magnet,which moves and cause electricity generation output.

Project Objectives

Vortex-Bladeless is an objective to develop a new concept of wind turbine without blades called Vortex or vortices wind turbine. The vortex design aims to eliminate or reduce many of the existing problems in conventional generators and represents a new paradigm of wind energy. It is morphologically simple and it is composed of a single structural component, so its manufacturing, transport, storage and installation have clear advantages. The new wind turbine design has no bearings, gears, etcetera, so the maintenance requirements could be drastically reduced and their lifespan is expected to be higher than traditional wind turbines. In the development of this new device, it is of prime importance to be able to test different geometrical configurations, operation conditions and to have energy production predictions. 

Project Implementation Method

Intermittent energy resources and energy resources unbalance are the most important reason to install a vortices wind turbine  system.

 wind has seasonal shifts

. • the sun does not shine for the entire day, using a  solar  will not be a suitable choice.

 arrangement of the wind  stored in a battery can be a much more reliable and realistic power source.

The load can still be powered using the stored energy in the batteries even when there is no  wind.

•In the monsoon seasons, the effect of sun is less at the site and thus it is to use a vortices wind turbine. •

It is Lightweight & it minimizes the use of raw materials.

It has a Quick response to wind changes, as it works despite the wind direction.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A fully functioning wind generation simulation which includes: (insert wind components)
 The simulated wind design modeled and tested in hardware so that a load of up to 500 W can be provided for.
