Coal Mine Monitoring System
In recent years, our country paid an increasingly attention to safety of coal mine, most of the coal enterprises have installed relevant monitoring system. But the existing coal mine safe monitoring system could not be completely covered underground areas because of the narrow space, complex tunnels and adverse conditions. The main problems include wired communications mode, complex wiring and high cost of installation and maintenance. In addition, the firm network structure is hard to expand and the monitoring spot is easy to bring on blind zone. Wired communication mode has a strong dependence on the line, the circuit would be corrupted and couldn’t provide useful information effectively when accidents happened.So it is urgent to extend the monitoring range of underground areas for collecting various information related to environmental sensor, video, voice and other multimode information for enhancing the ability of mine safety monitoring.
In order to save the mine workers from environmental hazardous, we have to communicate with mine workers in the underground section, the data must first be measured through the use of environmental parameters. The environmental parameters like gas, temperature and fire sensors are used. Moreover the installation of the cost of wired connections is very high. These wired connections will fail in natural calamities such as landslides, earthquake etc., so the reinstallation cost of the wired networks is also a disadvantage for these connections. Finally, the wired connections require a lot of maintenance cost also. That’s why Li-Fi is most suitable to communicate.
The main theme and idea behind this project is to transfer data from inside mine to outside using visible light. This technique is known as Li-Fi. Li-Fi is a latest and efficient technology of wireless communication between devices at a very high speed nearly upto 150gbps. This term was first introduced in 2011 by Harald Haas durind TEDGlobal talk in Edinburgh. In its present state LED lamps can be used for transmission of data through visible light. By using this technique, we can transfer data of any kind internet, music and other, from one place to another within no time delay. Using light to transmit data allows Li-Fi to offer several advantages like working across higher bandwidth, working in areas susceptible to electromagnetic interferences (e.g aircrafts cabins, hospitals) and offereing higher transmission speed.
The main purpose of this hardware is to monitor the coal mine environment with the help of internet.
The purposed hardware helps us to provide the rescue to the workers as soon as possible.
In this project we will design a coal mine where we would monitor gas, temperature and fire. In case of any abnormal condition, the LIFI will send the data from the mine to the end of the mine for the communication purposes. After receiving the data, we would create an alert on a specific IP address due to which we will get to know that the coal mine is not safe.
This project helps us to reduce incidents in coal mines.
It helps us to communicate from inside to outside of mine using visible light.
It enables us to monitor the real time situation of coal mine.
This project helps us to rescue the workers as soon as possible.
The purposed hardware helps us to prevent the Mine incidents. The hardware helps us to control the safety environment inside the mine for the workers. It also help us to communicate from inside mine to outside using Li-Fi.
