Voice Based water dispenser Automation System using Arduino is the project which will be very useful for old age people and disabled people, basically for one’s who cannot perform basic activities efficiently. It is the idea which corresponds to the new area of automation and technology. This project presents the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible and secure voice based hot and cold water dispenser system. The communication between the cell phone and the controller board is wireless. Voice command sends from mobile to the Arduino,to understand whether the water required by the person should be hot or cold. The Arduino processes the information to the IR sensor to determine where the glass is placed below the pipe or not. The system uses IR sensors to detect the presence of water glass and then the IR sensor sends the signal to the Arduino about the presence of the glass, accordingly the motor starts and the water flows though the pipes from the particular jar(hot/cold).

•Wastage of water is the biggest problem in today’s world. Water scarcity is one of the major problems which the major cities are facing across the world.

•The existing water dispenser system are facing common problems like button operated and wastage of water in case of no glass.

• They require no plumbing.

• Size- they make for easy storing and are usually portable.

• With so many different types of water dispensers on the market, you can choose one that suits your needs and budget.

• Cleanup is very simple. The only thing you really have to do is replace the parts when needed.

• How to use the water dispenser is fairly easy. The instruction manual does not require an expert to interpret.

•These problems can be solved by using our proposed voice based hot/cold water dispenser system.

Project Implementation Method

As when we had interfaced all the modules individually with Arduino successfully now  will combine all the codes and assemble the hardware. Firstly we will explain the methodology that how the system will work. So starting our project first of all when we power on the project the lcd will display the project name after wards it will display the temperatures of both hot and cold water tanks. The Bluetooth module is to be paired with the mobile once only. When a person sends voice command supposed to be “cold” the command will be send to the Bluetooth module and Bluetooth module will forward it to the Arduino, when Arduino recognizes the command it will turn on the cold water pump by driving the relay connected to the cold water pump, and water will start flowing in cold water tape. When a person sends command “stop” in voice to the app, the same procedure will be followed and the Arduino will stop the cold water tap by turning off relay. The IR sensors used are to ensure whether the glass is place there or not, if command is send and glass is present then the tap will be turn on otherwise if command is send but there is no glass or glass is misplaced then the tap will not be turned on. The same methodology is for hot water tap. As when the command “hot” is send by the person the Arduino will turn on the hot water pump and water will be flowing in hot water tap. The status of temperatures of both hot and cold water tanks are shown on LCD and whenever the hot or cold water tap is turn on its status will also be shown as Cold water On or Hot water ON. Heating element of the hot water tank is set at temperature 50C-55C as when the temperature drops below the 50C the heating element will turns on and when the temperature reaches 55C the heating element will turn off.

  • Save money by lasting longer: On average, touchless water dispensers last longer than ordinary ones because there is no wear and tear associated with the use of the tap valve. As such, they are often a more cost-effective solution than their traditional dispenser counterparts.
  • Reduce carbon footprint: Because they don’t use bottles, touchless water dispensers reduce your office’s plastic waste and contribute to less pollution and carbon emission.
  • Don’t get damaged easily: A touchless water dispenser is less likely to get broken because they consist of fewer external moving parts.
  • Make access to water easier to users with disabilities: Since they do not require pushing or pulling of a lever, contactless water dispensers are accessible to users with physical disabilities.
