The idea to develope this system was, to help potential property buyers help in decision making. Clients should be able to perceive the architectural design presented to them without being baffled about the true dimensions and floorplan. Right now, clients tend to get confused because by looking at a 2D printout or extremely exaggerated 3D render, it is almost impossible to judge the floor plan or judge the dimensions of the property.

We saw this as an opportunity to build a system, which provides a thorough walkthrough of your desired property through virtual reality.

The biggest and most common problem in an architect is that you cannot apprehend how the final product will turn out. The video provided by the builder is always exaggerated and far from reality. We saw this as an opportunity to build a system, which provides a thorough walkthrough of your desired property through virtual reality. Virtual reality (VR) is a powerful and interactive technology, which can also be termed immersive multimedia, is the art of simulating a physical presence for the audience in places both real and imaginary. The client can engage, explore and react to the virtual space. They can mark up, annotate and provide design feedback, which can be relayed back to the design team to advance the design. As a result, the client gets to visualize and experience the designs we create. With VR, you can better understand the outcome by walking through your desired property made in virtual reality. It gives you a sense of walking through the actual property. Life-size models made in virtual reality provide more transparency to clients and give them the chance to experience the outcome before even completing the product. Virtual reality is the way to overcome these issues.

Project Objectives

The main objective is to develop a virtual reality based system which will :

1. Update clients regarding their property
2. Help them understand floorplan
3. Provide life-size 3D models
4. Eliminate confusion caused by 2D plans
5. Help them understand the dimensions of the desired property.

Project Implementation Method

Agile

For our project, we will be using Agile Development Model. Agile software development refers to software development methodologies centered around the idea of iterative development, agile strategies split projects into smaller iterations or modules that do not require long-term preparation directly.

Concept:

Here, a product owner will determine the scope of their project. The product owner will discuss key requirements with a client and prepare documentation to outline them, including what features will be supported and the proposed results. In the concept stage, the product owner will also estimate the time and cost of potential projects. This detailed analysis will help them to decide whether or not a project is feasible before commencing work.

Inception:

Once you have determined that a project is viable, you create sprint teams and assign their respective tasks. Each team is given a set of goals and a timeframe to complete them. It is also at this stage that funding and resources are allocated.

Iteration:

The developers will work with UX designers to combine all product requirements and customer feedback, turning the design into code. The goal is to build the bare functionality of the product by the end of the first iteration or sprint. Additional features and tweaks can be added in later iterations.

Release:

The product is almost ready for release. But first, the quality assurance team needs to perform some tests to ensure the software is fully functional. These Agile team members will test the system to ensure the code is clean, if potential bugs are detected, the developers will address them swiftly. User training will also take place during this phase, which will require more documentation. When all of this is complete, the product’s final iteration can then be released into production. Production:

Once all testing and documentation are done, the product is passed into the production phase. At this stage, the team ensures the successful launch of the product and provides support for its release. They may also be required to guide the users of the final product.

Retirement:

The agile workflow process ends with the successful development of the product. It includes notifying the customers about the new product or the migration of the new software.
