Three Phase Transmission Line Fault Detection Using GPS And GSM Based
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryAn electric power system comprises of generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy
Growth in power systems has led to very complex networks extended across large areas. A power system, most of the time, operates in a steady state but disturbances, temporary and permanent, occur occasionally by the presence of large number of components which are susceptible to failures caused due to natural calamities, human errors and aging.
Project Objectives1)To design a circuit utilizing Microcontroller, GPS and GSM transceiver using Proteus.
2)To implement hardware prototype of proposed system.
3)To validate the system performance by applying faults at different locations
Project Implementation Method1)To design a circuit utilizing Microcontroller, GPS and GSM transceiver using Proteus.
2)To implement hardware prototype of proposed system.
3)To validate the system performance by applying faults at different locations
Benefits of the Project1) To save the life of human being, animals as well as birds.
2) To save money from aluminium conductor.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFor fault location data from SCADA such as oscillo graphs, relays and the sequence of events are used for fault location Now available latest technology. GPS which can be used to locate a fault on long high voltage transmission lines. Self monitoring hardware can be configured at foundation sites for both conditions.
By inserting the information of a fault location (GPS) into Geographical information system computer. Some power system operators have adopted this system.
