"The insights - A toolbox" will ensure actionable decision-making to improve business alignment. Businesses of all sizes need a robust, reliable, and easy-to-use business intelligence solution now more than ever before. In an age where analytics are the key to a company's success, and the amount of data created and accumulated has reached unprecedented levels, it is crucial for decision-makers, strategists, and stakeholders to understand every aspect of their business. The key to Business Intelligence success is achieved through the Business Intelligence reporting system to ensure widespread acceptance and end-user self-service.

We are creating a business intelligence web application with integrated dashboard reporting in an easy-to-use, low-cost business analytics tool for business analysts, BI experts, controllers, and managers. It enables you to easily access, monitor, and report data from data sources even without any SQL knowledge. Empowering everyone to dig into their data and leverage the potential of their analytics is the goal of dashboard reports. We are designing online business intelligence to apply performance management which derives actionable insights. Our system makes use of intelligent analytics with various analytics options. The proposed system specializes in smart reporting to create effective strategies using an intuitive and comprehensive business dashboard. Dashboard reporting is a process used to represent key performance indicators and relevant business data visually.

Project Objectives

Business Intelligence (BI) is a broad category of software applications and technologies. The main objective of this project is to gather, store, analyze, and access data to help organizations make better business decisions. “The Insight – A toolbox” project will meet the following objectives: 

1. Users will be able to connect to the database; each database will represent an individual data connection. The user will be able to establish a direct database connection.
2. The user will be able to analyze the data, which will help the user to create actionable insights based on the data. The user will be able to create charts and graphs and find helpful information. The project will provide a SQL query box to visualize and automate any SQL Queries that have already been in place for the weekly or monthly reporting. The right type of visualization is crucial to make your dashboards visually appealing and understandable to your audience. The user will be able to choose the right charts and graphs for the data, which will help the user extract hidden insights or highlight trends, dependencies, and outliers. The user will be exposed to various chart types and formatting options. 
3. The user will be able to create dashboards that will help the end-user display the analytical results in a visually appealing manner and format according to the provided dashboard widgets to be used. The designed dashboard can then easily be shared with other users.
4. The user will be able to generate alerts based on the threshold levels/boundaries set up initially. The user will be able to monitor the most important KPIs. The user will be notified automatically when an unexpected event happens, or a predefined goal is met. 
5. The user will be able to predict the trends. The machine-learning algorithm will be applied to predict the next expected value of a data series. The user will be able to predict the value of the next period based on the historical data.
6. The user will be able to generate reports. The user will be able to share an export of the dashboard with any email recipient.

 

Project Implementation Method

USERS:

• Registration field information and login credentials will be taken from the user as input.
• Users must connect databases integrated with our project. 
• Users can select any database for analysis from the connected databases. 
• While creating charts, the user can take the appropriate entity as an input. 
• To send the report to the desired recipient, information of recipients will be taken from the user as input for report sharing.

PROCESS:

• Registration of the user is needed. 
• The user will be establishing a direct database connection. 
• For analyzing the data, the user can select the database, and likewise, the user can select the desired entity furthermore by utilizing the drag and drop mechanism. 
• The user can format the charts and graphs according to the desired output. 
• The user can save the customized chart on the dashboard. 
• Users can also create charts by using the provided SQL terminal. • The user can customize and modify the dashboard by repositioning charts and inserting texts, images, and relatable icons. 
• The user can create multiple dashboards.
• After creating the dashboard, the user can generate reports to send the reports to various recipients.
• An alarm will be generated through which the user can monitor important KPIs by setting up different threshold levels.
• To predict the value of the next period, the user can utilize the prediction mechanism based on the historical data.
