Project Summary

This project aims at developing an Android and IOS based mobile application with the aim of making it easier for parents and students to instantly find and connect with thousands of professional and certified tutors at one place. This application will provide students a platform on their smart phones for finding the experts and tutors of their desired field/subject according to their qualification and experience.

Project Objectives

Often, it can be very tricky to know where to look and find a Tutor if you don’t have any connections. Usually, when a student wants to search a tutor, he/she has to search through newspaper advertisements or asks any friend or relative who can recommend a highly qualified and expert tutor with affordable fees.

The main objective of the project is to bridge the gap between teachers and students. Students will be able to search for a nearby teacher. Moreover, teachers will be able to post their announcements. Students will be able to negotiate with the teacher and hire them upon agreement. Additionally students will be able to give feedback to the teacher after completion of the course.

Project Implementation Method

There are three basic users for our app: Student, Teacher and Admin.

• Student can use all basic feature of the app.
• Teacher can also access all the features along with an additional feature of uploading the assignment with submission dates.
• Admin is a user too who is responsible for log in records and updating of database for any new information.

Most people have ingenuously worked on this problem. An android implementation of this project provides a feature to search for nearby tutor by subject. After selecting a tutor, a profile is shown which contains tutor info like Name, Qualification, Address, Teaching time, Fees, and there will be user-rating. Then student send request to tutor for book their seat in class or request to hire the tutor for home tuition. Another application provides the feature of nearby tutor but it is having bugs and is reported by students. Also there will feed section (Similar to news feed) which will show the online advertisement of announcements and academies of tutors also there will be online questions answering section in the feed section where student can post their problem in questions and other students or follow tutors can answer this in the comment section. This interactive feature is not available in any previous similar website or app.

Benefits of the Project

The purpose of “S-Tutor” app is a tool to assist the students/parents to find private tutors in an interactive manner. It aims to complement the efforts of a student to find a desirable teacher.

Scope of this project is very broad in terms of other manually finding teachers. 

Few of them are: 

• This can be used by parents to find teachers whenever needed.
• Can be used anywhere any time as it is a mobile application.
• This app can be used by many students who love teaching as a part time job.

• Tutors have to stay online to receive a course request from Students
• Tutors will get paid instantly after the course using payment modules.
• Tutors can rate the students after the class and leave a review.
• Students can skim through the relevant classes and search for the nearby Tutors
• Students can choose the tutors after checking their ratings and understanding their reviews.
• Tutors arrive at home, and after the class, the student can make the payment online instantly.
• Owner can make take a commission fee on every successful course completion.
• Owners can charge tutors during the document verification process.
• They can charge a service fee from students after every successful course completion.
• By displaying banner ads, owner can make some extra money from the app.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This is successfully satisfying the users of the basis requirement. The tools and application software are used in this project are very popular and easily available across the world.

The software is build using Flutter,The backend of the system is Firebase.

The software is a very reliable, one because there is no chance of system failure as there are only limited user which can access the database that are registered members and the Administrator and the software have enough capability to maintain its performance over time.

The major advantage of this system is that a userdoesn’t need to access it on a particular device due to its portability feature the appcan be accessed from any mobile device.
