Grass adds to the beauty of the nature especially when properly managed. Gas powered and fuel-based lawn mowing has been a really hard job that requires labor and mechanical effort to get the job done. Moreover, they consume human time. Today, pollution is a major concern in all the parts of the universe. Due to the emission of gases, the gas-powered grass cutter also contributes to the pollution. Moreover, the price of fuel is increasing day by day so it's not economical. These lawn mowers are generally large in size and are difficult to operate. But with the passage of time, innovation is made in every field. To overcome all these problems a solar based autonomous grass cutting robot is made. Solar based autonomous grass cutting robot will trim the grass with minimum cost. There will be no pollution as there is no oil. To detect any obstacle in the robot's path ultrasonic sensors are used. If there is any obstacle or particle in the robot's path the robot will automatically change its direction. Solar power will be used to provide a driving force for the cutter. If sun is not available for few hours it is also necessary to store some energy so this system will also operate on a battery, this battery will also charge through solar energy rather than any external power. The solar based autonomous grass cutting robot will use Arduino microcontroller, electrical motors, batteries and a motor driver. Arduino IDE software will be used to transfer the code to the Arduino microcontroller.

Block Diagram:

There are two inputs in our block diagram. battery is charging from solar energy through solar panel using charge controller .Ultrasonic sensor is taking input from its surroundings and giving its feedback to the microcontroller which then operates the motor driver and the relay driver according to the output from the ultrasonic sensor. There are two outputs in the system, one is motor driver that drives the two motors attached to the tires of the robot and the other is relay driver that is used to control the relay connected to the motor that rotates the cutter. Relay is used to stop the cutter if any obstacle comes in the path of the robot.
Flow Chart:

Robot will start with a switch or a push button.Since our area is predefined robot will start and cutting blades will be turned on. Robot will move in a straight line and will continue to do so until it detects any obstacle in its path .Ultrasonic sensors will be used to detect any obstacle. If there is an obstacle in the path, robot will go round about the obstacle in such a way that it comes to its same line . This will be done through path planning of the robot.And if there is no obstacle in the path ,it will continue in its path and complete the cutting of grass in the defined area. Once it has cut the defined area, it will automatically stop.
At the end we will submit our project in working condition and the complete report of project. Report cover all the details of robot.
