Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe idea is to create a smart vehicle tracking system with a low cost to help the students facing the travelling issue from home to university.
Pakistan being one of the countries still don't have any device to solve this issue for peoples. Therefore we will introduce the smart system which will be able to resolve it.
Our project will work as travelling for people as well as students one of these challenges include that where our vehicle is currently travelling and what was the next station or point to stop, at the same time the family of that person is also worried about person’s travelling.
when taking into consideration we use a tracking system that locates or shows the current location, previous, next station, and how much time needed to reach that next station also we will provide the SMS feature to inform the person's, therefore it reduces the security problem regarding the travelling issues.
we have thought to design it so that it can be controlled by sending two parameters (longitude and latitude) to the web application in order to display the graphical representation of the location.
This idea has already been introduced but not properly implemented because of some features. like SMS sending and receiving, location can be tracked but only limited connections.
This system is user friendly which can be easily accessible for everyone.
Project Objectives1. we have introduced a system that uses advanced technology(IoT) to enable the use of a location tracking system with easy access or view the current location of the vehicle.
2. which has a feature to send data from anywhere in the world by using the internet.
3. These System values will use to show the location in the application.
4.An important advantage of this application is that the students can access the system from a cell phone and receive the location information of the system in real-time.
Project Implementation MethodTo achieve this we will use GPS Models to get the longitude and latitude of the current location.
These values get through Arduino and GSM will be used to transmit them through SIM Internet.
We will be also adding a new feature that can be able to send or receive SMS to the user's mobile.
This will be help users if they haven't internet services.
One of the main things in our system is the connection of the hardware part with the software part ( web application).
For this connection, we will use GSM Model services to send the data to the webserver.
In our application site, we will use GPS values to show the location in the user interface, this location service can get through using Map API (Google/ foursquare API).

Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final deliverable will be a complete set of the system in working condition. which will be in both hardware as well as software part.
The hardware part will be a box that has a microcontroller and other components with their power supply(like batteries).
The project receives a signal of GSM and transmits it to the Web Application through APIs.
It will have a closed-loop design controlled by Arduino.
