Smart trolley is of great help as it can save much of customer’s time. A customer doesn’t have to wait in long queues, for billing of their purchased items meanwhile it can also help in the reduction of human errors. Quick scan of items will help in resolving the problems, we have used barcode scanner to keep track of items and to get information for particular item. Customers don’t even need to ask sales person to know about information of purchased item. Just by scanning the items and adding them in cart will make bill of all the purchased items and bill will be automatically updated. Weight sensors are used to check the validity of sale. Wi-fi module is used to update the information and to keep track of all the items available in store. This concept can be deployed on various scale keeping in view of its application. Smart trolleys can be equivalently beneficial for warehouses, metro stores or shopping marts. It can also be used courier services with some little modifications.
SMART TROLLEY model will be used in evaluation of a business opportunity from a generated technology idea proposed for commercialization purposes. There are four fundamental techniques within this model method known as Ideation, Requirements, Iterative Design and Idea Implementation. These techniques were utilized by the team to implement a great technology concept which will be targeted towards all the big retail stores.
The Smart Trolley idea is relatively new concept based on automatic billing system in mega stores. The concept is designed into a smaller version of the automatic billing system on a shopping trolley with a LED screen which allows customers to make bill of purchased items, placed in the trolley before leaving the entrance of the store. This is to reduce the billing time during peak hours. The Smart Trolley comes with all the traditional services including scanning an item to check for price and details also.

- Firstly, the customer has to scan the item.
- If the product is in the database, its price and name is displayed on the OLED.
- After pushing the item in the Trolley, the specific item is added to the bill
- Meanwhile, the bill of the customer is updated on the server.
- When the customer reaches the checkout, the bill is accessed by the POS Software and a sales receipt is generated.

Courier Services:
Smart Trolley can be very beneficial for courier services in keeping track of inventory items as it updates everything on server. It will keep record of consignment’s information and date of dispatch of items.
Inventories:
In inventories it is essential to record of items and their related detail like expiry date, weight and for how long item is in inventory. It also helps in resolving issues like shortage and surplus of items. It saves much of paper work and hectic checking routine.
Load Vehicles:
This concept can also be deployed in load vehicles to keep track of weight and loading and unloading of items on vehicles and also help in avoiding theft by workers or misplacement of items due to uncertain reason.
Libraries:
This concept can be very beneficial for libraries as it will keep track of every book in the library and automatically update date of issue and return on server saving much of time and can be extremely beneficial in record.
Stores:
Smart Trolley is exclusively made for mega stores, to help keep track of stores items and to know which items are more popular in demand and which items are near to expire. This will also help in data analysis.
