There are several ways that help prevent the spread of COVID-19, some of them are: the use of a suitable mask that prevents breathing air that could be contaminated with virus particles, also objects that are touched with the hands can contain these same particles, like the different places where you walk.In our country,  most places have chosen to place a person to control the entry of people from outside the place; verifying that they wear a mask on their faces, and to check temperature of those people and allow them to enter on the basis of wearing face masks and having normal body temperature. It is the project that will fulfill above mentioned requirements and there will be no need of a person to check the masks and temperature of people.

Project Objectives

The main objectives of the project are:

•To take measures to avoid spread of Virus (COVID-19).

•To perform Real-time face mask detection.

•Temperature screening.

•To restrict entry without mask.

Project Implementation Method

Folloing are some steps in order to complete implementation of project:

SOFTWARE

  1. Required installations
  2. Collection of data (pictures of people wearing mask or not wearing masks)
  3. Build a machine learning model using above collected data
  4. Train the model
  5. Test the model on pictures
  6. Test the model by real time simulation

HARDWARE

  1. Collection of required components
  2. Burning of code in Raspberr Pi using required software
  3. Test the ML model on R-Pi
  4. Final Implementation using circuit diagram
  5. Real time testing using webcam
Benefits of the Project

Following are some benefits of the project:

  1. Prevention from COVID-19 or any other contagious virus
  2. It will avoid the spread of virus
  3. Easy installation at Airports,Hospitals, Sports venue, Schools/colleges or where a person is not available 24 hr
  4. There will be no need of security persons to surveil for people with no mask
  5. It will automatically check the body temperature of a person
  6. Based on face mask and normal temperature, it will allow the person to enter or will restrict it.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The deliverables of the project are:

1.The real-time footage from webcam

2.Monitoring the temperature by temp-sensor

3.Face mask detection by trained ML model

4.An authorized entry by Barrier system (RELAY) if Mask is detected

5.The alert system(BUZZER) if the temperature is high or no mask is detected
