Smart Security System using IoT for Industry and Warehouses

It is very important for all the office, banks, schools, universities etc. To have a well-defined security system which would allow the security personnel to do their job efficiently.
Need of Design:In recent years, there has been an increase in video surveillance systems in public and private environments due to a heightened sense of security like, CCTV and RFID. There are several defects in the video surveillance systems such as picture is indistinct, complex structure, Poor stability, lot of storage space is needed to save the surveillance information and prices remain relatively high. This paper proposes the real time security surveillance system using IOT.
Abstract:In this system, we will use the NodeMCU chip as the microcontroller and RFID in the surveillance area. When any setback or breach will be detected in the system, alarm will be turned ON in order to notify something is wrong in the proposed system, then the issue which will be detected will be sent to the supervisor through the email server and also a SMS alert will be sent to the supervisor mobile automatically through GSM modem. It will record the data of the surveillance area which will be directly uploaded to the cloud server. When cloud is not available, then the data will be stored locally on the controller and will be sent when the connection is available. We can access the real time updates of swiping of RFID cards on web browser.
Project ObjectivesThe goals that we aim to achieve are as under:
- To make a surveillance system using RFID that will make the security personnels to go on intermittent search rounds around the premises to make sure that there is no trespasser in the premises.
- A remote supervision on the security department.
The project implementation consists of the following tasks:
1)Hardware Setup:The hardware will be composed of a NodeMCU with Wi-Fi connection and RFID tags which are spread around the premises at different checkpoints. It will also contain an alarm which will be sounded if the security personnel fails to achieve the respective task in the set time.
2) Web Administration:The NodeMCU which is already connected with the Wi-Fi will be used to update the date and time of the RFID card swiping on a cloud. And, this data will then be presented on a website, which the supervisor can access by his given credentials, in a more presentable form. Web administration will be a great help for automation and surveillance systems. So using the concept of internet of things and more smart way of communications this security surveillance system is developed and maintained. It could make the work of the supervisor simpler and easier. The system secured way is more user friendly with the supervisor and secure their premises in more.
