Location Based First-Aid and Delivery Drone
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThis project presents an approach which could be used for developing a small and compact sized hexacopter which can be used to carry out first aid kit and other tools and to provide audio/visual aid to the people in distress. It could also be used for performing live video streaming. This will save human pilots from flying in dangerous conditions that can be encountered not only in military applications but also in other scenarios involving operations in bad weather conditions or near buildings, trees, civil infrastructuresand other obstacles.
Project Objectives- To design a light weight robust drone that can lift upto a certain weight.
- To remotely control a drone to provide First aid.
- To make drone capable to choose its own path from a source to destination by using Aerial maps.
We have started our project from scratch. The reason for this is that we are targeting a design flexible and robust drone that can bear different environmental and natural hazards. Several design structures have been analyzed and a optimized design is currently in process. After that we will try to control the drone and finally, we will be providing the drone the capability that it can take coordinates (lattitue, longitute) to make a path to its targeted location. This will be achieved by using different sensors and control mechanisms.
This project could bring a drastic change in society. It can save precious lives which are lost due to unavailiblity of first aid in remotely areas. Moreover, it can be used to provide dilivery services within a specific range (depending upon the battery rating).
Technical Details of Final DeliverableA light weight drone that can carry upto 5-8 kgs of load (First aid or any other) to its destination by using sensors and google/aerial maps.
