Project Summary

Coal mining is considered much more dangerous then hard rock mining. Most of the deaths occur in developing countries. Keeping this in mind we design in helmet for the safety of mine workers. The proposed work tells about safety helmet, which is used to avoid the accidents which will cause in the work space with a low-cost sensor. This helmet will help in maintaining the safety of workers and also operational ability of work. This helmet will reduce the safety monitoring costs to the company. We will use a number of sensors, which will continuously monitor the worker health condition minute by minute and will store data collected by sensors. In this helmet, there is GPS, which will provide the location of worker in case he is unable to move, and finding it difficult to locate himself. Sensors provided in the helmet will trigger the alarm in case of hazardous conditions. The supervisor can spectate the workers all the time. The device will always be connected to the internet so the controller of the workers always check the data.
