The idea is targeting the people buying grocery items purchased within the area by local grocery stores and shops. This works with the list of items selected by the end user through an application that proceeds with the receipt printing at the grocery shop. Printed receipt will have all information about the buyer and list of items he wants to buy with the bill as well.
The system has three major parts
Android based application is to be installed in user’s mobile through which he could place orders of their own choice to the store. This application will have home delivery option with user pick up as well.
This will work on a computer or mobile application that can manage the items such as adding, removing or updating items with their price as well. Grocery store manager will be able to update items and price with this module. Admin panel will manage and acquire all possible queries if occurs due to any mishap.
Mini Computer is to be placed in grocery store. This will receive all orders placed by users through the GPS and 3G data connection system. After which a receipt is printed by a thermal printer which notifies the person at store about the placement of order.
This module will also be able to work even if electricity connection fails. Power banks will be there as power backup which keeps them running for certain time if such thing happens.
To develop smart grocery application that makes buying of grocery items easy.
To make users free from stress of being in queue or crowd to buy grocery items.
To overcome the users in market who still can’t afford or use smart phones and are unaware of technology.
Implementation phase will consist of different phases.
Probably, we will be using MySql for DB in vendor and admin modules. DB will be designed according to the business rules that our system will follow
Admin module will be implemented through web application. Web application implementation will be using all web related development tools and languages.
A user friendly mobile application with easy useable GUI will be designed for vendors. As vendor population may be illeterate, so simple interface with full functionality according to vendor will be focued on.
Customer will be having another mobile application that is used to place orders and manages all the customer end services. 5) Raspberry Pi: Raspberry pi 3.0 will be configured and integrated by Admin, Vendor and Customer applications. An internet sim will be attached to Raspberry pi to make it connected to internet. Thermal printer will be printing all the slips of incomeing orders at that particular shop.
Benefits of this project will be:
1) Increase of business in local area/town market.
2) Reduction of time consumption in between of placing order and delivery by reducing the travel time.
3) Helpful in buying daily basis groceries at just one click without bothering one self to approach market.
4) Independent or living alone people can schedule their grocery buying without being afraid of forgetting.
Technical system would be consisting of:
1) Web application for Admin module and its related functionalities.
2) Mobile application/Tablet application for vendors to enter or update their list of items.
3) Mobile application for customers to place their order in their own local area/town shops.
4) A module with Raspberry Pi, Thermal Printer and Interent sim will make an order recivery process complete placed at the vendor's shop.
