Project Summary

Early diagnosis of any disease leads to better options to recover. Unfortunately, in rural and remote areas most of the patients die due to lack of health monitoring facilites. This project aims to regulate the health care by analysing vital health parameters using cheap and portable sensor-based smart health care solution.  The sensors detect the physiological signals including body temperature, pulse rate, ECG, and environmental parameters including air quality and humidity, and send alerts in case of abnormal readings.

Project Objectives

The main objectives of the proposed system are to

  • Develop a cheap and portable smart health care solution to reach out to the remote areas.
  • Moniter patient's health periodically without the need of a medical specialist.
  • Generate notification alerts when patient's health parameters are abnormal.
  • Record readings to the web server in order to manipulate and analyse patient's overall health.
  • Record the location of patient and call for medical assistance before its too late.

Project Implementation Method

  • Register Patients and doctor based on required specification.
  • Record user's information such as name, contact, address etc.
  • Detect user's physiological signals and send these to the web server.
  • Detect environmental signals and send these to the web server.
  • Generates Email Alerts Notification in Case of Abnormal Values.
  • Represent readings using interactive visualisations
  • Updare user's records

Benefits of the Project

Smart Health Care System is an Android and IoT-based application to ensure periodic monitoring and early diagnosis of patients specially in far off areas. The main benefits of the proposed system are to:

  • Cheap and portable solution to moniter patient's health periodically without the need of a medical specialist.
  • Generate notification alerts when patient's health parameters are abnormal.
  • Record readings to the web server in order to manipulate and analyse patient's overall health.
  • Record the location of patient and call for medical assistance before its too late.

HARDWARE FOR THE SYSTEM:

We are using Android phone on patient's side for creating appointment request and to observe readings data. We are using Firebase for storing patient's appoitnments requests and health readings.
We are using Micro Controler Arduino MEGA 2560 and Health sensors to take readings from patients and these readings are sent to web server via GET HTTP Request from Ethernet Shield.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

We have used prototype software development model methodology in our project because the this model is much used in the software industry because of following reasons

  • It Reduces time and costs
  • Prototyping improves the quality of the specifications and requirements provided to customers.
