Smart Green House Control And Monitoring System
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummarySmart greenhouse control and monitoring system automatically controls the environment of a greenhouse. The environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, light and moisture level are sensed by means of sensors present in the system. If any of these parameter changes the system automatically adjusts it back to the desired level. The plants are automatically watered in case of low moisture levels. The values of temperature, humidity, light and moisture level are displayed on LCD panel inbuilt in the system and are also remotely available on a smart phone.
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of the project are:
-
To control and monitor greenhouse environment locally or through internet for better plant growth
-
To automatically monitor moisture level and water crops
-
To offer a longer growing season even in cold climates.
The system consists of prototype glass model of a Greenhouse with a microcontroller and sensors to sense the environmental parameters. The values of sensors are forwarded to a microcontroller board which automatically controls the environment of greenhouse. The sensed values are displayed on LCD panel installed with system. This information is also transferred to a smart phone via wi-fi module. A user can view this information and can also control the watering of plants remotely.
Benefits of the ProjectThe system allows the environment of the greenhouses to be controlled and monitored automatically or through internet and reduces human effort in monitoring them. It also provides automatic watering, so growers requires minimal staff while maintaining time to inspect and manage the crop growth. It offers a longer growing season through automatic controlling temperature and helps in growing even in cold climates.
